The call ended abruptly, and Haley turned to her parents with a pained expression. “This is all your fault. I told you he’d never agree!”
Logan’s eyes suddenly became cold and harsh. “Since he won’t accept kindness, he has only himself to blame for what happens next!”
Haley said, “Dad, what are you planning to do?”
“If he refuses to cooperate, then we’ll make him disappear for good! No matter the cost, we must save Ethan. The Owens family cannot end like this!”
Hearing Logan’s ruthless words, Haley bit her lower lip and didn’t say anything more.
Since Aaron was so heartless, she couldn’t be blamed for being realistic.

Two days later, it was drizzling in Jaslands.
Ellie was in her room reading when the butler, Evan, called her downstairs.

Diana took Ellie’s hand and led her outside. “My dad said that your brother drove me home the other day and I threw up all over him. Come with me to pick out a new outfit for him to say thanks, or my dad will keep nagging me.”
In the afternoon, Diana dragged Ellie to the most luxurious mall in Jaslands.
“Ms. Grant, you don’t have to spend so much.” Ellie saw the price tag on the men’s shirt Diana was holding and hurriedly put it back in shock.
With a sly smile, Diana looked at Ellie and said, “Ellie, I’m buying a shirt for Mark too, and can you help me pick one that suits him?”
Ellie awkwardly said, “Ms. Grant, I never really had a good eye for these things.”
Diana giggled as she continued to persuade Ellie, “Actually, Mark is quite a catch. Don’t think just because he’s a doctor he’s not well off.
“He owns shares in our family’s business and practically the entire commercial street where his hospital is located belongs to him. My brother’s cooking is incredible. If you don’t believe me, just ask Lacey.”
Ellie felt awkward and didn’t know what to say. This was typical of Diana; every time she saw her, she promoted Mark.
Seeing Ellie stay silent, Diana insistently asked, “Why don’t you give Mark a try? You might just find yourself charmed by his personality if you spend some time with him.”
“Diana, you’re really underestimating her.” Not far away, Haley and her friend approached with mocking expressions.
Seeing Haley, Ellie couldn’t help but frown.

Ellie stood quietly next to Alex, watching Haley becoming increasingly unhinged
Haley said, “A dog that bites doesn’t bark. You still think she’s a friend, but she’s already been with Alex ages ago!”
Ellie was about to speak when Diana raised the wooden clothes hanger in his hand and swung it towards Haley’s head Before Diana could hit Haley with the hanger, a figure suddenly dashed forward and slapped Haley hard across the face.
