Alex, sitting at the card table, glared at the glass in Ellie’s hand and said irritably, “Why aren’t you at home asleep at this hour, Ellie? You’d better…”
The words “have something to tell” hadn’t left his mouth when Ellie gripped the glass and threw it at his head.
Alex leaned back in his chair at the card table, dodging by tilting his head.
Seeing Ellie with red eyes, lunging at him again, Alex wrapped his legs around hers and grabbed her hands. “What the heck is wrong with you!?”
Ellie bit her lower lip hard, looking pale, her eyes red, and said nothing.
Her legs were trapped by Alex’s long legs, unable to move, and her hands were pinned down to the sides. Out of strength, Ellie turned her head to bite Alex’s wrist.
Alex, feeling the pain from Ellie’s bite, suddenly flipped her over, wrapped his arms around her waist, and sat her on his lap. Alex wrapped his legs around Ellie’s to keep her still and forcefully took the glass from her hand, putting it on the card table.
He turned Ellie around, forcing her to look him in the eye.
Alex’s breathing was a bit erratic, his gaze dangerous. He looked into Ellie’s eyes and impatiently demanded, “Tell me, what exactly is going on?”
Ellie lowered her head, tears of frustration pouring out.
Seeing Ellie’s unusual behavior, a flash of concern showed in Alex’s eyes.
Alex raised his hand to wipe away Ellie’s tears, speaking again in a gentle tone, “What are cell phones for, if not to talk about things over the phone?”
Seizing the moment when Alex wasn’t paying attention, Ellie once more grabbed the glass from the poker table.
Alex pulled Ellie onto his lap and lifted her chin gently. “In the middle of the night, instead of staying at home, you come here out of the blue, attacking me without a word and biting me as soon as you speak. Who’s been indulging you?”
The glass in Ellie’s hand smashed against Alex’s head, and as Ellie let go, it shattered into pieces.
Watching blood streaming down Alex’s forehead, Ellie stayed completely expressionless.
Ellie still didn’t say a word, reaching out to touch other objects on the poker table.
In the next moment, Alex scooped her up and laid her down across the poker table.
With an intense look, Alex stood between Ellie’s legs and pinned her hands down on either side of her body.
Alex said, “If you don’t explain everything clearly today, I’ll strangle you!”
Alex and Ellie had been living together for more than ten years, and if Ellie wasn’t pushed to her limit, she would never dare to act against him.
Ellie met Alex’s gaze, her eyes red with hatred, and said, “You can kill me right now!”

message.
Ignoring the wound on his head that was still bleeding, Alex looked at Ellie with a determined expression. “If you want to fight or even kill, I’ll go along with it today. But first, go to my room and change out of those wet clothes.”
Ellie stared intently at Alex. “No need. I already called the manor when I got here. Mom and Dad should arrive soon.”
“Ellie, what the hell do you mean by this?” Alex glanced at his watch; it was exactly midnight.
Alex stormed towards Ellie, demanding, “What’s happening to you?”
