Chapter 251
“Hi, Mark,” Ellie greeted as she saw him walk in.
Her gaze shifted to the young couple entering behind him, and she froze in shock.

The man resembled Mark in some ways, tall and handsome with striking features. He wore a black three–piece suit and a sleek black long coat.
His commanding aura radiated from him, making it hard to look directly at him. His presence was one that demanded respect and attention.
The woman standing next to him was even more stunning. Despite her tall stature, she wore high heels that only added to her elegance. She had on a light–colored pantsuit beneath a military–green coat that reached her knees.
Her long, dyed hair cascaded down her back, and her facial features were sharp and intense. Her aura was both commanding and graceful, exuding a powerful, almost intimidating beauty.
What caught Ellie’s attention most were her slightly upturned eyes. When she smiled, her expression softened, making her seem unexpectedly gentle, as though the fierce energy she carried had found balance in that moment. Standing beside the man, she looked almost docile.
Mark followed Ellie’s gaze and turned around, introducing the couple. “Let me introduce you. This is my older brother, Patrick Grant, and his wife, Winnie Grant.”
Ellie snapped out of her daze and quickly greeted them.
That day, the party was disrupted. She had heard about Patrick and Winnie’s arrival, but hadn’t had the chance to meet them.
To her surprise, they were even more stunning in person than any celebrity she had seen on TV.
Winnie shot Mark a meaningful look. “You’ve got good taste,” she said, her tone filled with a certain depth.
“Winnie, you’re overthinking it,” Mark replied calmly, correcting her with ease.
Ellie felt her face flush, embarrassed as she lowered her head.
It seemed that not only the Warren family elders, but even the Grant family, had misunderstood her relationship with Mark.
Given her past experiences, which were so real and painful, Ellie knew better than to entertain any false hopes again.
“Winnie, you’re finally here.” Diana’s voice, tinged with emotion, pulled Ellie back to the present.
By the time Ellie looked up, Diana had already dragged Winnie into the bedroom.
Meanwhile, Patrick and Mark were talking with Layton in the living room. Ellie walked to the bedroom door, peeking inside. To her surprise, Winnie had cornered Haley against the wall and was slapping her hard.
The sharp sound of each slap, mixed with Haley’s cries and frantic attempts to fight back, echoed throughout the suite.
Ellie turned her attention back to the living room, where Patrick, Mark, and Layton seemed completely unfazed by the noises coming from the bedroom. They were chatting as if nothing was happening.
The commotion continued for several minutes before finally quieting down. However, on the bed, Alex hadn’t moved a

Ellie couldn’t help but feel curious. ‘Is he really asleep, or has he just pretended to be? she wondered.

“Darling, she was bullying Diana, and I just couldn’t hold back. I gave her one… or maybe two… well, three slaps, Winnie said innocently, approaching her husband with two fingers held up.
Patrick, with a calm demeanor, gently took her hand and started massaging her palm. “Yeah, I heard. Just a couple of slaps
Ellie was momentarily stunned.
Seeing her confusion, Mark spoke up kindly. “Winnie didn’t scare you, did she?”
Ellie snapped out of her thoughts and quickly shook her head.
What had stunned her wasn’t just the situation, but the fact that a man could spoil a woman to such an extent. Patrick’s ease with Winnie’s actions was something Ellie had never witnessed before.
From their reactions, it didn’t seem like Patrick or Mark had any intention of continuing an alliance with the Warren family. Despite how badly their sister had been treated, both Patrick and Mark were calmly engaging in conversation as if nothing had happened.
Just then, Haley’s parents, accompanied by bodyguards, barged in.
“Haley, who did this to you?” Evelyn exclaimed, rushing to her daughter, who was huddled in the corner, clearly traumatized by the beating.
