Alex stretched out his long legs to block her path, but Ellie, holding the blow dryer, swung it toward his leg
By sheer bad luck, it hit Alex’s kneecap. Ignoring his painful cry, Ellie quickly exited the bedroom.
Ellie sat quietly in the living room of the suite, listening to the chaos unfolding inside,
Diana said, “This bastard is absolutely not someone I would marry. He still hasn’t refunded the dowry, plus he owes me tens of billions in emotional damages. Tomorrow, I’ll publicly announce the breakup”
Haley retorted, “You’re asking for tens of billions? Why don’t you just go rob a bank?”
Diana grinned. “I’m in the process of robbing him right now,”
Soon, members of the Grant family began coming out of the bedroom.
“Ellie, wait for my call tomorrow,” Diana said as she rushed over, sneakily showing Ellie a phone transfer with a dy grin.
Ellie couldn’t help but give Diana a thumbs up.
When she saw Alex, fully dressed, walking out of the bedroom, Ellie stood up to leave. If it weren’t for Diana dragging her into the car, she wouldn’t even have come to this kind of event.
“Ellie, wait, come with us,” Nancy said as she stopped Ellie at the door.
A few minutes later, only the Owens family and the Warren family remained in the living room.
Haley’s face was swollen and her lip split, but she’d dressed and tidied herself up, sitting with her parents.
Ellie sat next to Nancy, and Alex sat next to Todd.
Nancy spoke first. “By family background alone, even if the only heir of the Owens family didn’t end up in prison, Haley st doesn’t deserve Alex.”
Evelyn replied, “That’s true, but Mr. Warren and Haley are genuinely in love. If they want to get married, we can only wish them well. Wouldn’t you agree?”
Nancy shot back, “Love is between two people, but marriage is between two families. She doesn’t have much to offer in terms of family background, but even her character is trash.
“What makes your daughter think she’s worthy of being the future matriarch of the Warren family?”
Evelyn retorted. “Mrs. Warren, are you sure? If Haley was truly that bad, do you think Alex would even like her?”
Nancy snapped. “Alex’s eyesight isn’t great. I’m considering getting him new corneas. You guys put a price on it, and from now on, keep your family away from Alex.”
Haley stood up suddenly, her voice trembling. “Mrs. Warren, how can you be so domineering? Are you saying that my relationship with Alex can be measured in money?”
Nancy swiftly stood up. “I take back what I said. You won’t get a single penny from us. If I find out you even dare to meet Alex again, you can expect the Owens Group to go bankrupt.”
