The next morning at Warren Manor, Alex walked into the living room to find his parents and Grandpa waiting for him. “Since you agreed to take over the company, you should prepare yourself properly. Staying out all night and coming back like this is completely unacceptable,” Todd scolded him firmly.
“Dad, I’m ready. I will go to the company today,” Alex said quietly in the living room, looking determined.
Carlos, sitting on the sofa, said seriously, “Alex, while Warren Capital belongs to the Warren family, it involves the interests of almost a hundred shareholders and the jobs of hundreds of thousands of employees.
“Even though you’re the CEO, you still report to the board. The business world is like a battlefield–every decision needs careful thought. Never act on impulse.”
Alex nodded. “I understand, Grandpa. I’ll wash up and change, and I’ll be at the company on time,” Alex said before heading to the staircase.
Nancy watched her son, feeling heartbroken. “Do you think it’s right for him to go to the company in this condition?” She was worried.
Todd replied, “If it weren’t for this incident making him reflect, do you think he would have agreed to take over the company?”
Carlos added, “Even the most stubborn children have their moments of weakness. This lesson will help him grow. Give him some time to adjust. As for Ellie, stop interfering–let Alex redeem himself.”
At exactly 8:30 AM, Alex stepped out of the CEO’s private elevator. All the staff in the executive office stood in two neat rows to welcome him.
Alex wore a sharp, all–black business suit with a matching long coat, no tie, and the only accessory was a fancy, limited- edition watch on his left wrist.
He was tall and walked confidently, radiating a natural authority that made him seem like a leader. He walked straight into his office, followed by a group of employees.
Moments later, a well–dressed young woman entered. “Mr. Warren, I am your administrative assistant. My name is-”
Alex gave her a sharp look, noticing her skirt was too short. “Warren Capital has strict dress codes for its employees. Female staff should wear skirts no higher than three fingers above the knee.
“Who allowed you to dress like this? And whoever approved it? Both of you are fired.”
The assistant, scared by the cold atmosphere, hurried out without a word.
A few minutes later, a middle–aged executive brought another assistant into the office. “Mr. Warren, this is-”
Alex, sitting behind his desk, raised a hand to stop the introduction. “Let her speak for herself.”
The girl, nervous and blushing, could barely say a word.
Alex coldly said, “I asked you to find me an assistant, not just any woman.”
