Chapter 330
It was just past three in the afternoon the next day, inside the office of the CEO of the Warren family.
Chris approached Alex just as he was finishing a meeting and preparing to leave the office. “Mr. Warren, there’s a board meeting scheduled in forty minutes,” Chris said.
“Move it to next Monday!”
Alex grabbed his suit jacket off the couch and left.
Chris stopped Barry. “Mr. Jensen, this…”
Barry gave Chris a helpless look.

Later that evening, at the Warren Manor, Ellie deliberately chose to come over when Alex wasn’t around.
The weather forecast predicted a typhoon that night, and she wanted to finish up quickly and head back. Ellie began moving some precious flowers and plants that Carlos usually tended himself into the greenhouse. “I’ll do it,” he said. Suddenly, her load lightened as Alex took the pot from her hands.
Not far behind them, Barry picked up the suit jacket that Alex had discarded to grab the flower pot and quickly stepped aside.
Ellie took a step back and didn’t

And so it went: Ellie moved pots while Alex followed suit, Ellie trimmed bonsai trees while Alex handed her tools.
The garden usually had staff managing it, so Ellie only needed to take care of a few precious orchids that Carlos personally looked after, which didn’t take long.
With Alex’s ‘helpful hands‘ on deck, Ellie finished up in no time.
“Here,” Alex said, handing her a bottle of water after she washed her hands.
After washing her hands, Alex handed Ellie a bottle of water.
Ellie glanced at him but didn’t take it, sidestepping him as she exited the greenhouse. “There’s a typhoon coming. I’ll drive you home,” Alex said, following her into the garden. Ellie stopped in her tracks and turned to Alex, “Don’t forget the promise you made!”
Alex was at a loss for words.
“My boyfriend’s here to pick me up,” Ellie said, walking away without looking back
Ellie’s word “boyfriend” struck Alex like a bolt of lightning, leaving him frozen, unable to move another step. “Mr. Warren, the hospital is calling,”

Just as Alex reached the living room door, a sudden gust swept into the room, carrying the garden’s sand and shattering the antique vase by the entrance,
“Mr. Warren, please hurry upstairs. The typhoon’s hit earlier than expected,” Evan called out.
Hearing Evan’s voice, Alex turned around.
The once clear sky suddenly darkened with rolling clouds as the strong wind brought torrential rain, sweeping through in an
instant.
“Ellie!” Alex pushed Evan aside and rushed out!
“Leonard, don’t bother coming to get me.”
Ellie walked away from the Warren Manor, waiting for Leonard to pick her up.
The sudden storm brought heavy rain, leaving her with nowhere to hide.
Luckily, she was used to carrying an umbrella, and immediately called Leonard, telling him not to come.
But before she could hang up, the storm flipped her umbrella inside
out.
Ellie dropped the umbrella and looked around.
Though she had been walking for a while, she at the edge of the Warren family’s estate greenbelt.

Soon, the sky was completely covered by the dark clouds, and everything turned pitch black.

On the roadside, Ellie, soaked to the skin, found a tree to shelter herself behind. Just as she pressed her back against the trunk, the sound of the wind snapping trees in half echoed around her.
Her body was uncontrollably swept by the strong winds, unable to stand, and she fell to the ground multiple times, unable to get back up.
Just then, she heard a loud crack- and despair washed over her.
“Get in the car!”
-a massive tree nearby was spli in two by the storm, and an overwhelming sense of fear
A familiar voice suddenly sounded behind her, and then Alex scooped her up in one swift motion.
Stuffed into the luxury car by Alex, Ellie was still in shock.
