Chapter 336
Ellie looked at Leonard, who seemed hesitant to speak. She slightly moved her stiff body. “Shall we leave?”
Leonard bent down and carried Ellie out of the adult store.
Once in the car, Leonard called 911 for help.
The car drove straight to the entrance of Ellie’s apartment complex, where Leonard parked.

The cramped front seat felt strangely suffocating as silence hung heavily between them. After a long pause, Ellie broke the silence.
She said, “Leonard, I really enjoyed spending this time with you. Thank you.”
Leonard unbuckled his seatbelt and turned to face Ellie.
When he rushed into the adult store, he saw the small–handled scalpel on the floor, the man lying next to Ellie, her wearing another man’s suit jacket with her hair in disarray, and her slightly swollen lips…
He figured out the relationship between Ellie and Alex.
He’s a man. But he knows Ellie better than anyone else.
A guy and a girl alone for a night, and things reached a point where even level–headed Ellie was ready to use a knife.
He couldn’t even imagine that scene. He didn’t question her; he just felt heartbroken, overwhelmed with guilt.
Leonard was silent for quite a while before finally saying, “When I got your call yesterday, I really thought you stayed there for the night. I didn’t keep checking your location. I’m not a good boyfriend.”
Ellie turned her head to look at Leonard, tears unknowingly filling her eyes. “Leonard, you’ve been amazing. It’s me who doesn’t deserve you.”
She desperately wanted to leave her past behind and return to the pure version of herself–someone who could love deeply and care for herself.
But she realized it was just wishful thinking, a fantasy.
She was already stuck in the mud; why should she drag someone else down?
“Leonard, don’t waste your time on me. You deserve someone better.”
Ellie opened the car door and

out.
“Is it because of him?”
Behind her, Leonard’s urgent voice made her pause.
She didn’t turn around, just casually replied to Leonard, “Yes and no.”
Alex’s intermittent craziness was exhausting. She felt like she would go insane before he did.
Given her current situation, it was unfair to continue seeing Leonard.

Leonard was just an ordinary person, and if Alex wanted to come after him, it would have been easy. She didn’t want to involve innocent people anymore.
She felt drained. She didn’t want to go through this any longer. Perhaps being alone forever was her only path now.
Two days later, at the Warren Manor. Alex woke up after being unconscious for two days.
Glancing around the familiar space, he blurted out, “Where is she?”
His sudden movement tugged at his injury, sending a wave of pain and cold sweat throughout his body.
In Alex’s master bedroom, Evan and Barry exchanged a look.
Barry said, “When the ambulance arrived, you were the only one there, Mr. Warren.”
Alex was at a loss for words.
Alex looked up at Barry, “She called the ambulance for me; I should be in the hospital. Why am I at home?”
Barry, hesitated before continuing, “Mr. Warren, it wasn’t Ms. Thompson who called the ambulance for you.”
Alex, both embarrassed and angry, hit the bed, “Then why did you bring me back here?”
Barry carefully stepped back.
Evan, said helplessly, “Mr. Warren, please calm down. Mrs. Warren was embarrassed and didn’t want you to stay in the hospital.”
Alex was speechless.

Evan asked, “The servant made you some porridge, Mr. Warren. Would you like to go down and have it, or should I bring it up here?”
Ten minutes later, Alex, wearing dark pajamas, dragged himself to go downstairs.
Just as he sat down at the dining table, Layton arrived.
“I heard from Nancy that Ellie poked five or six holes in you. Is that true?”
