Chapter 345
And so, the entire night at the Thompson residence was filled with laughter and bright lights, as they celebrated the long- awaited reunion.

The next day, Ellie asked her brother for a day off to accompany Jason back to their hometown. A few days later, the Thompson family’s ancestral tablet was relocated to Jaslands. Ellie, Aaron, and Joanna also moved into the Thompson residence.
Since Jason preferred to keep a low profile, he only met a few government officials and military leaders, avoiding anyone else. After that, he packed up and prepared to take his wife to Lunaville to visit her family.
“It’s been so many years since I last went back. I wonder if they’ll still recognize me as their daughter,” Whitney thought, recalling how she had betrayed her parents long ago by secretly marrying Jason. The memory of her mother being hospitalized out of anger and her father kicking her out weighed heavily on her mind, filling her with anxiety.
As she was packing her bags, Jason came over and pulled Whitney into his arms, concern etched on his face. “You don’t need to do anything or say anything; I’ll take care of everything,” he reassured her.
“Not only will I make them remember you as their daughter, but I’ll also make them accept me as their son–in–law,” he added.
They locked eyes, and the love between them was unshakeable.
“Before we leave, I have one more thing to take care of. Once I’m done, we’ll head out,” Jason said, finishing up with two large suitcases. He carried them downstairs and called for Aaron to join them as they stepped out the door.

It was a bright afternoon, the sun shining down into the expansive garden of the Warren family. A private car slowly rolled
- in.
Alex’s parents had been anxiously waiting all morning. As soon as they heard the sound of the engine, they rushed outside.
Seeing Jason in his military uniform walking in the sunlight, Nancy felt as if she were looking at her own son and immediately burst into tears.
Her gaze fell on Aaron, who was holding a military outfit in his hands, with a small bundle on top. Nancy trembled, leaning against the doorframe to steady herself.
A little while later, in the Warren family’s guest hall. The spacious living room felt eerily empty with just a few people inside.
“On behalf of a friend’s last wishes, I brought something back for you two,” Jason said.
Nancy grabbed her husband’s arm, her voice shaking. “Todd, our son will never come back!”
Todd, a man who was used to the ups and downs of the business world, felt rocked to his core, his body teetering on the edge of collapse.
Jason took the military uniform and bundle from Aaron’s hands and presented them to Todd and Nancy.
After a brief silence in the living room, Nancy’s exhausted cries filled the air. “Even if he was given to the country, at least

“Mrs. Warren, for people like us, from the moment we devoted ourselves to the country, everything we have belongs to the nation. This is true in life and even more so in death.”
Jason wasn’t planning to stick around for long. He shot Aaron a glance and prepared to leave.
“From now on, the Warren family’s matters are the Thompson family’s matters. If you need anything, just let me know,” Jason stated before turning to walk away.
“Mrs. Warren!” Hearing the butler’s surprised voice from behind, Jason paused.
Turning around to see Nancy about to faint from her tears, Jason couldn’t bear it any longer and said, “For people like us, sometimes death is just another kind of rebirth.”
Todd gasped, “Are you saying my son is still…”
“Mr. Warren, I’m not saying anything,” Jason interrupted Todd firmly and strode out of the room.
