On the sidewalk, two pairs of eyes locked onto each other. Ellie stood silent, her brows furrowed in frustration.
Alex took a cautious step forward, carefully reaching for the medical report in Ellie’s grip. “Let me see it.”
The report became a tug–of–war, each refusing to let go.
Seeing Ellie’s face grow darker, Alex explained in a hurried whisper, “That night, it was truly my first time!”
Ellie’s frown tightened.
Alex’s urgency was palpable. “I swear!”
Finally, Ellie spoke, her tone sharp. “To me, your first time and your hundredth time are exactly the same! You’re toxic!”
For a moment, Alex was at a loss for words, flabbergasted.
After taking a few deep breaths, he persevered, “Whether you believe me or not, it was really my first time. Now that it’s -happened, let’s talk about it.”
Ellie was impatient. “There’s nothing to talk about. Step aside!”
Alex held her gaze, undeterred. “We’ve already crossed that line. You just want to brush it off?”
Ellie shot back, “What do you suggest?”
With a hesitant tone, Alex continued, “You came into my room on your own. And because of this, my engagement has been thrown into chaos, so-”
“So, what’s your point?!” Ellie interrupted, her sarcasm sharp as she confronted Alex’s shifting eyes.
Alex replied solemnly, “My grandpa’s not doing well. If he finds out I’m not married anymore, there’s a good chance he won’t last long. The Warren family could be planning a funeral in no time.”
Ellie was speechless.
After a brief pause, Ellie relented, “Fine. What do you want to discuss?” Since it had already happened, they might as well clear the air.
“Let’s go,” Alex suggested.
“Go where?” Ellie questioned.
“I want to find a place to talk properly,” he answered.
“Here is just fine,” she stated.
Alex glanced around, realizing they were standing on a bustling sidewalk, with passersby frequently glancing their way as if they were witnessing a bizarre scene.
He spun in circles, frustration bubbling over as he raised his voice. “You want to stand in the middle of the street and talk about our night together?!”
At Alex’s shout, pedestrians turned their heads in unison, staring.

Chapter 366
Ellie stood her ground. “If you don’t want to talk, just move!”
Alex pointed toward his luxury car parked nearby. “Want to sit in my car for a bit?”
Ellie replied, “No thanks. I feel better standing”
Stunned by Ellie’s outright dismissal, Alex fell silent.

After a moment of quiet, he noticed her still clutching the medical report. With a sigh of resignation, Ellie let it go. She stood quietly as Alex flipped through the pages of her report.
After a careful read, Alex’s gaze returned to her with a hint of hesitation. “Ellie, I know you haven’t forgiven me for what happened before. And then there was that mess in Jinerity…”
He took a deep breath. “That night, I was drugged too.”
Ellie interjected, “Get to the point.”
Of course she understood he had been drugged; otherwise, she wouldn’t be here listening to him. Their eyes met in a heavy silence.
Alex lowered his voice. “Everyone knows what happened between us. My fiancée refuses to marry me now and is demanding a fortune as compensation. My grandpa is in the hospital; you can’t act like nothing ever happened.”
Ellie remained expressionless, her gaze unwavering.
Sweat beaded on Alex’s forehead as he felt the weight of her stare.
