Diana came in and casually placed the handbag in front of Aaron. “What are you guys talking about? I lost your jacket last time, so I’m making it up to you with this one.”
Aaron stared at the handbag before him and then looked at Diana, who had already sat beside Ellie.

Diana took a paternity test report from her bag and handed it to Ellie. “Winnie did it in secret. She is indeed Winnie’s sister.”
Ellie looked at the paternity test report in her hand, her brow furrowed, and thought, ‘Can it be that I have overthought this?‘
“Ellie, I have something to do. Let’s meet another day,” Diana said, getting up to leave after just a few minutes of conversation.
Joanna said, “Ms. Grant, it’s too late. Have Aaron take you home.”
“No need, Mrs. Thompson,” Diana replied with a carefree smile.
“Just focus on driving,” Joanna said.
At the door, Aaron bent down and reached into the car to pick up a lipstick next to the gear shift, handing it to Diana. “Drive safely on your way back,” he said.
Listening to Aaron nagging, Diana accepted the lipstick with a hum and started the car.
Watching Diana’s car drive away from the Thompson residence, Ellie couldn’t help but look at Aaron and say, “Diana must have heard our conversation just now.”
When Ellie got the call from Diana, Diana said she had nothing to do that evening and would come by to chat, and also deliver something to Aaron. But after arriving, Diana stayed for only a few minutes before leaving.
On any other day, even with Joanna and Whitney around, Diana would have teased Aaron for a while. But tonight, after she arrived and handed Aaron a bag, she didn’t speak to him again until she left.
Watching the direction in which Diana’s car left, Aaron frowned slightly, “Declan is the teacher I respect the most, and the best relationship I have with Diana is no relationship at all.”
“But about Diana…” Ellie hesitated, unable to continue.
“Let’s head back,” Aaron said as he turned and walked ahead.

A few days later, at noon, in an old house on the outskirts of Jaslands.
“Mom, are you sure?” Haley asked, still unable to believe it. She had rechecked the DNA comparison with Winnie and confirmed that she was indeed the true second daughter of the Janssen family, Quinlee
After being acknowledged by the Janssen family, she heard Mrs. Janssen mention that years ago, Mrs. Janssen had a premature birth while visiting relatives in Jaslands.
The hospital where Mrs. Janssen was admitted was the same private hospital run by Haley’s uncle, which was also where Haley was born. The reason Haley dared to see Evelyn was to verify another suspicion she harbored.
Evelyn said, “Why would I lie to you? The hospital where I gave birth to you was your uncle’s private clinic. There were no

electronic records.
“After the hospital closed, your aunt made sure to erase all our family’s medical records before the health department could come and take them over.”
Evelyn said, “The hospital’s been closed for almost twenty years, and your aunt and uncle moved overseas years ago. As long as you can avoid a paternity test with the Janssen family, no one could discover that you’re faking being Quinlee
Haley looked calmly at Evelyn before her and took a wad of cash from her bag. “Mom, the Owens family is finished, and my brother is still in prison.”
“Now, the only way for us to turn things around is by depending on my identity as Quinlee of the Janssen family. Don’t call me. I’ll ensure money is sent to you regularly. If something comes up, I’ll contact you through a private account.
