Chapter 404
Ellie and Nancy turned back to the living room. Ellie sat beside Nancy to avoid Alex.
Seeing Ellie avoiding him, Alex hopped over to her side and sat down.
Ellie wanted to get up, but seeing that the guest had already entered, she could only temporarily endure it.
“Nancy, Alex, Ms. Thompson,” Quinlee greeted everyone calmly, her eyes involuntarily falling on Alex.
However, Alex was focused on Ellie, his fingers intertwined with hers, not even bothering to look up.
Seeing Ellie sitting between Nancy and Alex, looking very much like the mistress of the house, made Quinlee insanely jealous. Yet, her smile only grew warmer.
As Ellie’s eyes met Quinlee’s, she felt an unexplainable discomfort in her heart.
“Ms. Janssen, what urgent matter brings you here so late at night?” As soon as Nancy saw Quinlee, she thought of Orion who had passed away years ago, her heart ached, and her face naturally darkened.
In the face of Nancy’s coldness, Quinlee responded with a smile. “Nancy, I heard from Ms. Grant that Carlos had been discharged from the hospital. I’m here to tell you that Mr. Griffith, who specializes in pancreatic cancer, has arrived in Jaslands.”
“You know Mr. Griffith?” Nancy asked excitedly, standing up from her seat upon hearing the news.
Quinlee glanced at Alex discreetly and stood up as well. “Mr. Griffith is a classmate’s father. Coincidentally, I’m very good friends with this classmate, so I got the news in advance.”
“But Mr. Griffith is a reclusive and eccentric person. We visited him twice without success. Do you have a way?” Nancy asked.
“My classmate told me that Mr. Griffith often goes to the Go club to find people to play with. If someone knows how to play Go, they should be able to approach Mr. Griffith,” Quinlee said.
“I’ll go,” Ellie, who had been silent, spoke up decisively. As a medical student, she knew better than anyone that there was currently no successful cure for pancreatic cancer, but it was possible to prolong the patient’s life.
Carlos had personally taught her how to play Go before. Although she was not a master, she at least had the opportunity to get close to Mr. Griffith.
“Then Ms. Thompson, wait for my news. I’ll let you know when Mr. Griffith goes to the Go Club again.” A triumphant glint flashed across Quinlee’s eyes.
She had known for a long time that Carlos had been teaching Ellie to play Go for many years. Now that Carlos was dying and Ellie had lost her memory and had no more barriers with Alex, she would not give up any hope.

Nancy and Ellie walked Quinlee to the door before returning.
Nancy took Ellie’s hand and returned to the living room. “Todd and I visited several times, but we didn’t see Mr. Griffith. Now that Quinlee is willing to help, we must try our best. It’s worth it if Carlos can live a little longer.”
Alex sat in the living room, watching his mother pull Ellie towards the stairs. He propped himself up on one leg and shouted at Ellie. “Ellie, come back and help me!”

Chapter 404
Ellie looked back at Alex, but Nancy pulled her away. “Leave him alone. Let him hop around if he wants.”
Although Nancy said so, after Ellie went upstairs, Ellie still came to change Alex’s medication.

Alex sat on the bed with his legs stretched out, staring at Ellie with a sullen face as she entered. Ellie calmly opened the medicine box.
