“Only Haley deserves the delicate roses. You’re more suited for weed.” With that, he took the rose from her hand and left her standing there alone.
That day at the cinema, Alex placed the roses intended for Haleyanto Ellie’s hands. He told her, “Hold on to these flowers for me. If even one is missing. 111 hold you accountable”
After the cinema caught fire, he escorted Haley out, but left Ellie behind. When she was carried out of the flames by Aaron. her clothes and hair were singed, and she was trembling all over
Ellie clutched the roses tightly in her hands and handed them to him, her voice shaking with sobs. “Here, none are missing”
“Ellie. I’m sorry” When Alex spoke again, his voice was choked with emotion.
He said. “Forgive me for being such a bastard in the past. I truly know I was wrong”
At this moment, he despised his former self more than ever.
Alex’s sudden apology left Ellie confused.
She slowly pulled away from his embrace and tilted her head to look at him, only to find his eyes slightly reddened. Her heart clenched with unease. “Alex, what’s wrong? Why are you suddenly apologizing?”
Alex immediately caught the flicker of worry in Ellie’s eyes. Feeling an ache in his heart, he pulled her back into his arms. His hand cradled the back of her neck, pressing her tightly against his chest, preventing her from seeing his current expression.
In a low voice, he coaxed her, “We’ve been together for over ten years, but I never truly cherished you. From now on, I will treasure every single day with you. I won’t let you down again.”.

“Ellie, let’s be a real couple. I don’t want to wait even a single day longer. With that, Alex kissed her.
It was as if he was desperate to prove something, or perhaps he was seeking reassurance–maybe he just needed confirmation from her. Either way, his kiss was urgent, anxious, and almost frantic.
Ellie, already unsettled by Alex’s sudden melancholy, was caught off guard by his kiss, leaving her completely flustered. She could feel the unease emanating from him, but she had no idea what had triggered it.
“Alex. I’m on my period.” Ellie had been so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t even realize she had been pressed onto the sofa until that very moment. The realization jolted her back to her senses.
All of Alex’s movements came to an abrupt halt. He braced one hand on the sofa beside her, his chest rising and falling heavily. He buried his head in the crook of her neck, his breath unsteady, but he made no further moves.
Ellie was too startled to move a muscle.
Affer a few minutes, Alex finally sat up. He gently pulled Ellie up with him and carefully adjusted her clothes.
His eyes were red, filled with heartache, guilt, and even a hint of fear. His voice was hoarse as he asked, “Did 1 scare you just

Ellie shook her head. Between a man and a woman, this was natural. She could feel Alex’s desire for her, just as she could sense his restraint.
Since she had agreed to be with him, intimacy was inevitable–was only a matter of time.
“Alex. 1–I’m not ready yet.” She really was on her period this morning, and she truly wasn’t prepared, “Give me a little time.”
Ellie sat on the sofa while Ellie slid onto the floor. Catching the face of panic in her eyes, Alex wrapped an arm around her waist and rested his head gently against her lower abdomen.
Closing his eyes, he tried to steady his emotions before murmuring. “Sorry for being too impatient.”
Then, in a low voice, he added. Tll give you time, but don’t make me wait too long.”
