Ellie was undergoing her second treatment. Tying hypnotized on the examination table, she was being guided by the *11 specialist to keep recalling things.

Alex sat on the chair beside the examination table, gripping Ellie’s hand tightly. His breathing was a bit ragged, and were fixed on the still–unconscious Ellie, his expression constantly changing.

After they left, only Alex and the still–unconscious Ellie remained in the room.
Alex’s hand, holding Ellie’s, trembled slightly. He was suppressing his emotions, and there were obvious signs of struggle in his flickering eyes.
If he hadn’t interrupted in time, Ellie would almost have remembered that he went to see her on the day she started her internship at Jaslands Hospital.
He went to her and asked her to help him pursue Haley. That was the worst start for them.
