With that, Ellie got into the car, and Aaron closed the door.
“Aaron, I’m sorry.” Alex faced Aaron, feeling only humble. That day, he was too impatient to take Ellie abroad and had a fight with Aaron. He just wanted to stop Aaron from going upstairs and didn’t dare to fight back.
Aaron’s gaze fell on the ring on Alex’s right ring finger. After a brief hesitation, Aaron said, “You know better than anyone that every minute and second you spend with Ellie now are illusory and false!
“Ellie will definitely remember everything. Even if you put the most precious diamond ring in the world on her finger, you can’t keep her. You know this better than anyone else!
“Wake up, Mr. Warren. Stop deceiving yourself!” Aaron said, turned around and got into the car, leaving.
Alex stood there, staring blankly as the car drove away from the airport.
Barry opened the car door, and Alex got in. He leaned his whole body against the seat and closed his eyes to hide all his
emotions.
Aaron was right. Every minute and second of happiness Alex had with Ellie now was stolen by him. It couldn’t be seen in the light.
Once Ellie regained her memory, let alone that small diamond ring, even if Alex gave her everything he had, she wouldn’t even give it a second look.
Alex didn’t say anything, and the driver didn’t dare to start the car without permission, Barry asked, “Mr. Warren, should we go to the office first or…?”
Alex replied, “Back to the Warren Manor.”
Near noon, Ellie finally returned to the Thompson residence. “Mom, does it really not hurt anymore?” In Joanna’s room, Ellie checked Joanna’s injury as soon as she got back. Making sure it was just a sprained waist, Ellie felt relieved.
“Mom, I told Alex that I won’t go back to the Warren Manor for now. I’ll take care of you until you get better, and then I’ll go back to accompany Carlos, Ellie said as she sat by Joanna’s bedside and held her hand.
Joanna lay on the bed, and her gaze fell on the diamond ring on Ellie’s left hand. She didn’t say anything but looked up at
Aaron
Aaron stood at the foot of the bed and hesitated for a moment before asking Ellie, “Ellie, did he propose to you?”
When Aaron mentioned it, Ellie remembered the important thing she wanted to tell everyone. She stood up, raised her left hand, and showed the diamond ring on her finger to them.
With a serious expression and firm eyes, Ellie said, “Mom, Aaron, Alex proposed to me, and I agreed?”
Aaron’s expression was complicated as he exchanged a look with Joanna Joanna opened her mouth but in the end didn’t say anything.

Ellie said, “Mom, Aaron, I know you don’t have a good opinion of him, but trust my judgment. He’s not as bad as you all think. I hope you can accept him.”
Aaron spoke sternly. “We’ve already agreed to let you late him. How could you agree to his proposal so quickly?!”
Feeling guilty. Ellie lowered her head and said. “Aaron, I really like him!”
Aaron looked at his only sister and couldn’t say a word. Ellie was currently in a state of amnesia. Facing a man she had secretly liked for seven years and who had pursued her with both calculation and passion, it was understandable that she had fallen for him.
Just then, Ellie’s phone received a text message.
Joanna noticed the smile on Ellie’s lips and finally said, “Is it him?”
Ellie quickly nodded and said. “Mom, Alex said he wants to come and see you.”
“Let him come. I have something to ask him, Joanna said with an unusually calm tone.
It hadn’t been an hour since Ellie sent a message to Alex when he arrived.
