Chapter 463
Not knowing the start time, he had already been trapped by the fragmented memories of all the little things he had shared with Ellie. The girl who used to like him so much and so deeply had completely drifted apart from him and would never come back.
It had always been his own dilemma, always.
“Ellie, I will use my whole life to prove to you that I truly love you!” he said with a hoarse voice, struggling to speak.
“Evan, go up and see if that naughty kid has cried himself to death.” The next morning, Nancy asked the butler to go up and check on Alex’s situation.
No matter how naughty Alex was, he was still her own son. Thinking about the pitiful look of Alex when Ellie left yesterday, Nancy was both angry and distressed.
“Nancy, I’ll go up and see.” Layton came early in the morning and went upstairs to find Alex.
Barry had been guarding the door of the study all night. When he saw Layton coming up, he pointed to the door of the study and then left.
“Oh my God!” Layton came in and saw Alex lying on the floor like a starfish at a glance. He was so scared that he quickly squatted down to check Alex’s breathing.
Alex pushed Layton away, and Layton breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Hey, are you waking up from that dream?”
Alex propped himself up and sat up. As if he hadn’t heard Layton’s words, he got up and went to the wine cabinet to open a bottle of wine.
Layton didn’t care. He went to the large photo wall that had just appeared in Alex’s study and admired the “happiness” between Alex and Ellie.
Turning to Alex, Layton put away the freshly opened wine bottle and left only one glass for Alex, asking, “What are you going to do next?”
“I’ll wait for her to calm down and then I’ll go to find her. I won’t let go!” Alex gripped the wine glass and drank a whole glass of wine in one gulp!
Layton joked, “I have a feeling you’re going to meet your end by getting buried alive!”

Meanwhile, at the Thompson residence on West Suburb No. 7, everyone woke up unusually early today after Ellie’s return yesterday.
“Mom, it’s not convenient for me to go in, so you and Whitney should go take a look,” Aaron was worried about Ellie and, considering it was still early, suggested Joanna and Whitney go check on Ellie.
“Though Ellie may seem calm, she has the tenacity of our Thompson family,” Jason pointed towards the dining room and said. “Let’s all head to breakfast and let her sleep in a bit longer.”
Joanna looked worriedly towards the top of the stairs but remained silent.
Everyone had just sat down in the dining room when Ellie, neatly dressed, walked in. “Mom, Jason, Whitney, Aaron, I know I was wrong! I’m sorry for not listening and causing you all worry.”

Chapter 463
Ellie’s eyes were badly swollen and red, and her voice was hoarse. It was clear she had cried for a long time last night.

“Silly girl, we’re family; you don’t need to be so formal, Whitney said, pulling Ellie into a seat. “We didn’t tell you everything after you lost your memory because we didn’t want you to overthink and stress yourself out if you couldn’t remember.”
Whitney added, “Who knew that jerk would be so despicable, actually deceiving you while you had amnesia?
Joanna served Ellie a bowl of porridge and said, “It’s good that you’re back. That’s all in the past; just focus on living your life
well from now on.”
Ellie awkwardly looked down and then nodded firmly. She had stumbled over Alex numerous times before, and this time was no exception. Now that her memory was back, she vowed never to forgive Alex for deceiving her this time.
Even if she was in immense pain and struggling, she needed to pull herself together as soon as possible. She couldn’t let her family worry about her anymore. Besides her family ties, there was nothing in this world that could break her spirit or truly hurt her anymore.
