Seeing her only son with a neutered cat and recalling Ellie surrounded by her children stirred up a wave of sorrow in Nancy.
Unable to hold back, she blurted out, “At over thirty, what do you have beside this cat? As your Mom, how can I not cry over this?”
Alex, taken aback by his Mom’s sudden outburst, looked down at the cat resting in his arms and then fluffed his recently styled hair.
He moved to comfort his Mom, saying. “Mom, with my looks, finding a wife is just a matter of time; is that worth getting upset over?”
Nancy lamented, “The Warren family is no longer what it used to be, after serving time, what respectable girl would want you at your age?”
