Chapter 563
Ellie knocked on Mark’s office door and entered, just as Quinlee burst in right behind her. Mark appeared from the changing room, freshly dressed. Ellie turned to Quinlee and said, “If you have something to discuss, talk about it in front of
Mark
“Mark. I’m family to the patient. Ellie disposed of my belongings while I was away. What gives her the right?” Quinlee exclaimed.
Mark glanced at Ellie and replied calmly, “Ellie is the attending physician for the patient. She has the authority to make those decisions. As a family, you’re expected to cooperate.” Mark had always followed strict procedures.
Ellie kept her serious expression as she addressed Quinlee firmly, “I told you before that dangerous items, like flammable and explosive materials, valuable possessions, and metals, aren’t allowed in the ward.
“I specifically warned you about any psychoactive substances for the patient, but you ignored all my warnings.”
A soda can that Quinlee had carelessly left behind could have easily turned into Orion’s weapon, putting Linda at risk.
Mark added. “I’ll submit a request to transfer Ms. Janssen out of the hospital.”
“On what grounds can you kick me out?” Quinlee protested.
“You can’t work with Ellie to provide Orion with a safe recovery environment, so you can’t stay,” Mark stated.
“But I’m Orion’s fiancée!”
“I’m the director of this hospital.”
“We have work to do; please leave.” Ellie was determined not to see Quinlee any longer and urged her to go. Quinlee shot a resentful look between Ellie and Mark before storming out.
“What do we do now, Mark?” Once Quinlee was gone, Ellie expressed her worries, knowing just how cunning that woman could be.
“We’ll follow protocol and do our best to have her removed from the hospital; the rest will be handled by others,” Mark replied, showing he understood the seriousness of the situation.
Jason had personally gone to the border to bring Orion back, skipping military hospitals and Jaslands Hospital, and had Orion delivered straight to Mark’s private hospital, specifically requesting that Ellie be Orion’s attending physician.
Moreover, Jason provided no additional explanations regarding Quinlee and forbade any inquiries–clearly implying the importance of discretion. It was best to avoid unnecessary complications, as curiosity could lead to trouble.
Mark wasted no time and submitted the application. By the end of the day, Ellie received a call from him, telling her to go to Orion’s room to inform Quinlee it was time for her to leave.
Ellie put on her professional face. “You can’t be here twenty–four seven, but you’re welcome to visit at any time as a family member.”
“I just want to say a few words to Orion before I go.” Quinlee surprisingly cooperated and entered the ward.
Ellie didn’t have time to consider Quinlee’s motives. The absence of Quinlee would surely relieve many burdens in her and Linda’s tasks together.
That evening, as Ellie wrapped up her shift, she was on a video call with her two children while making her way to the parking lot of the hospital.

Suddenly, a horn blared, and Quinlee’s car screeched to a stop right in front of her. Quinlee rolled down the window as Ellie approached Quinlee.
Faced with Quinlee’s provoking expression, Ellie tightened her grip on her half–empty water bottle and sprayed the remaining contents all over Quinlee, Quinlee shrieked, quickly grabbing tissues to wipe her drenched face.
“Ellie, you horrible woman!” Quinlee shouted. “Even if you kick me out, I’m still Orion’s fiancée. Once I’m in the Warren family, 1- Ellie cut her off by dousing her with the rest of the water, soaking Quinlee completely.
“Catch you later!” Realizing she had accidentally revealed her true intentions, Quinlee gritted her teeth and sped off. “Who is this Orion she keeps mentioning?” Alex’s voice suddenly called from behind, startling Ellie and making her gasp as she turned around.
