Chapter 572
“Mr. Warren, please show some respect to Ellie, Mark cautioned Alex, noticing the distressed look on Ellie’s face.
“The quicker you get me to Orion, the more polite I’ll be to Ellie, Alex coolly remarked, glancing at Ellie from the corner of his eye.
Seeing her face stirred something in Alex’s eyes. Without realizing it, his hand on Ellie’s shoulder relaxed.
“Wait for me in my office,” Mark said. He instructed Lacey to leave, but Lacey, overflowing with curiosity, refused to move, lingering in the hallway.
“Be a good girl and wait for me in the office,” Mark gently urged her. “I’ll be there soon, and we can enjoy a seafood buffet tonight.”
With her curiosity at its peak, Lacey asked, “Mark, is Orion really alive?”
Mark leaned down and kissed her quickly. “Just wait for me in the office,” he urged softly.
The quick kiss calmed Lacey’s curiosity, and Mark’s tender reassurance left her a little dazed. Blushing, she turned and rushed away, her mind racing.
Ellie watched them, astonished, momentarily forgetting her own pain. ‘Aren’t they in a contractual marriage?‘
Mark watched Lacey step into the elevator before adopting a more serious demeanor as he opened the hospital room door. “You cannot enter,” Linda quickly warned when she saw Ellie, Mark, Alex, and Barry.
Alex and Barry dashed toward the hospital door but were blocked by Ellie and Mark. “Orion is emotionally unstable right now; you can’t go in!” Ellie insisted, gripping Alex tightly to stop him from entering.
Inside the room, a familiar figure sat in a wheelchair, and Alex’s eyes glistened with tears. “Orion, it’s me, Alex.”
“Get lost.” A cup was hurled from inside the room, making the four at the doorway duck.
“Orion, please calm down; it’s me,” Linda pleaded. “Don’t be scared; you just had a bad dream. You won’t hurt me, right? The bracelet I’m wearing was made by you.”
Suddenly, Linda found herself caught in Orion’s grip, tightening around her throat. Struggling for breath, she tried to comfort him. As Orion’s grip finally loosened, she carefully stood up.
Wrapping her arms around him, she pulled him close, allowing him to find comfort in her embrace as she steadied her own breathing. She gently patted his shoulder, soothing him further.
She said, “With me here, there’s nothing to fear, Orion. Those who just came in were Ellie and Mark. If you feel upset, I’ll keep them out.”
She comforted him like a child for quite some time before Orion’s emotions began to settle.
Linda emerged from the room, where Ellie came to check the marks on her neck and asked, “What just happened?”
“A psychologist came to see Orion, and he started recalling some painful memories, causing an emotional outburst. I managed to calm him down using headphones and some music. Please avoid entering for now,” Linda explained.
She took a sip of water to get herself together. Listening to Ellie and Linda’s conversation, Alex’s expression darkened, but he held back his earlier impulse to burst in.
“Mr. Warren, now that you’ve seen Orion, we need to talk.” Mark led Alex and Ellie into the conference room.

Ellie and Mark exchanged glances. Mark took the lead. “Mr. Warren, I’ll explain why Orion has been kept here, but you need to tell me who gave you the tip–off.”
