Chapter 619
Alex suddenly thought of heartless Ellie and said with disdain, “Even if I’m desperate, I haven’t sunk so low as to consider a second marriage. No way!”
“Alex, there are good matches even in the second–marriage market. As long as the person is of good character, the rest. doesn’t matter,” Nancy reasoned.
Alex stared at Nancy in disbelief. “Mom, you’re not against widows anymore?!”
“I’m not against them. As long as you both like each other, that’s what matters,” Nancy said calmly.
Alex was speechless.
At noon, in Bondie Private Hospital. Diana was being discharged. With Aaron bustling around and the Grant family waiting at home, only Aaron, Mark, Lacey and Ellie were left in the hospital room.
“Let’s meet up later,” Diana said happily as she hugged Ellie and Lacey. She was finally getting out of the hospital.
“I’ll go back first. I need to talk to Mark,” Lacey said, staying behind to speak with Mark while Diana left.
“Teacher is waiting for us at home for lunch. Let’s go,” Aaron took Diana’s bag and led her out of the room by the hand.
“Learn from your mistakes. Don’t be so impulsive next time.” Aaron reminded Diana gently as they walked down the corridor.
“I know, I’ll listen to you from now on,” Diana replied cheerfully. Suddenly, she stopped and pulled Aaron back. He turned around, and their eyes met.
“Am I a good listener, Aaron?” Diana asked. Aaron ‘smiled and nodded.
“Then do I get a reward?” Diana held out her hand expectantly. Aaron hesitated for a moment.
Holding Diana’s hand, Aaron pulled her closer. “I should have prepared something for your discharge. I’ll make it up to you later.”
“No, I want it now!” Diana pouted, pressing herself against him.
Aaron sighed helplessly, giving in to her. “What do you want? I’ll take you to get it right now.”
Diana stood on her tiptoes and kissed the corner of Aaron’s lips. “I want you to kiss me back.” Aaron touched the spot she’d kissed him, his ears turning bright red in an instant.

He glanced nervously down the hallway, then quickly pulled her closer to the wall, out of sight. Looking into Diana’s eyes, Aaron’s Adam’s apple bobbed. His gaze softened, melting everything away. “Tonight, I’ll come to pick you up.”
“And you’ll kiss me then too, right?” Diana pointed to her lips, trying to hide her excitement. They stared at each other, and Aaron couldn’t resist leaning down to kiss Diana’s lips.
At the doorway, Lacey and Ellie peeked out, watching the scene unfold in the corridor. “Ellie, Aaron has been corrupted by Diana! Kissing in public!” Lacey grabbed Ellie’s arm, both excited and gossipy. Ellie quickly pulled Lacey back inside.
Since Diana returned from her five–year stay abroad, Aaron had become more openly affectionate towards her. Whitney had already prepared the engagement gifts, and they would soon visit the Grant family. It wouldn’t be long before the Thompson family and Grant family celebrated a wedding.

“I’m going to the outpatient clinic,” Ellie said, using an excuse to leave after seeing Aaron and Diana enter the elevator. Mark hung up his phone and looked at Lacey, who was waiting for him, noticing the fleeting emotions in his eyes.
“Mark. I need to talk to you,” Lacey said hesitantly as she approached Mark.
“I’m busy right now. We can talk later,” Mark said.
He tried to leave but was stopped by Lacey. “It’s lunchtime now, your break. Just give me a few minutes, I’ll be quick,” Lacey insisted.
“Come to my office,” Mark conceded, leading Lacey to his office.
Later that evening, just before leaving work, Ellie went to Orion’s hospital room. “Mr. Warren, I’m looking forward to removing your bandages in two days. I’m confident your face will fully recover.”
“Thank you, Dr. Thompson,” Orion’s mood had stabilized significantly since he was admitted.
After leaving Orion’s room, Ellie remembered the patched–up pants that Alex had sent her to add to his medical records. Thinking about how childish he had acted today, she dialed Alex’s number.
The call rang for only a couple of seconds before Alex hung up. Haley stared at her phone, speechless.
