Ellie looked away, nodding politely. Seeing Alex glance at the children, Ellie told them, “Say hi.”
But as soon as Ellie spoke, Betty pulled her brother and hid behind Ellie.
“Betty, Oscar, don’t be rude,” Ellie crouched down, gently reminding the kids to greet him.
“Hmph!” Betty turned away from Ellie, suddenly announcing, “I don’t want him to be my dad anymore.”
Ellie was speechless and thought, ‘Kids‘ worlds are the purest.
Alex stood up for Betty and Ellie at school, even getting into fights for them. Betty admired him so much that she gave him her most treasured gift, hoping Alex could be her dad.
At the concert, Betty eagerly offered Alex a lollipop, but he ignored her. Ellie tripped while holding her, and she noticed Alex helping someone else without a glance at them. From that moment, Betty decided she didn’t want Alex as her dad

“Ellie, your daughter sure has some wild ideas,” Alex remarked with a sarcastic snort, then turned on his heel and left.
