Her son’s injury was a result of her own negligence, so she didn’t hold anyone else responsible.
However, Deborah insisted on taking responsibility and eagerly offered to pay. Ellie found it difficult to refuse.
After paying the bill, Deborah handed all the receipts to Ellie and said, “Dr. Thompson, I heard that you’re divorced and currently raising two children alone.”
