“Here you are, little guy,” Alex said, handing Oscar the volleyball he had brought. It was quite cool.
Oscar’s eyes lit up when he saw the cool volleyball that he had never seen before in Alex’s hand, but he didn’t reach out to take it.
Alex squatted in front of Oscar and turned the ball around. “See? It’s signed by a volleyball superstar. There’s only one in the world. Are you sure you don’t want it?”
“Thank you.” Oscar reached out to take the ball, but Alex took it back.
Oscar got confused. He looked at Ellie for help.
Alex said, “Don’t look at her. If you greet me politely when you see me afterward, I’ll give you the ball.”
Alex held the ball in one hand and pinched Oscar’s chin with the other, turning his face to face him.
“Thank you, Mr. Warren.” Oscar pushed Alex’s hand away and secretly complained in his mind.
The more Oscar didn’t want Alex to touch him, the more Alex wanted to rub his cute little head.
Alex said, “Look how aloof you are, little thing. It’ll be hard for you to find yourself a wife when you grow up.”
Ellie exchanged a glance with Joanna, and they both felt speechless.
“Mr. Warren, you can’t find yourself a wife, so you want to seduce my mom, right?” Oscar hugged the volleyball and moved
toward his bed.
Alex glanced at Joanna and Ellie guiltily and then stood up.

“No, thanks, Mr. Warren. I took the day off, so I have plenty of time.” Ellic shot Alex a warning glance and dodged.

The moment when Ellie turned around, Alex reached out, took the car key from the small cabinet and put it into his pocket.
“Mrs. Thompson, I’m going to the company.” Alex cautiously walked over to Joanna.
Joanna said, “Drive carefully.”
Hearing Joanna’s concerned reminder, Alex seemed to have been injected with a shot of adrenaline, suddenly full of energy.
“Okay, Mrs. Thompson, I’ll drive slowly,” Alex said to Joanna with a grin as he walked out of the ward. Then he accidentally bumped into Orion’s wheelchair.
“Mr. Warren!” Linda hurried over to check if Orion got
hurt.
Hearing Linda’s voice, Ellie put down what she was holding and came out.
Seeing Orion, Alex awkwardly looked back at the ward. When he saw Ellie coming out, he pushed Orion’s wheelchair and was about to leave. “Orion, let me take you back to the ward.”
Orion said, “Didn’t you say on the phone that you had an important meeting this morning and wouldn’t come here until the afternoon?”
