As dinner drew to a close, Ellie noticed that Alex had barely eaten anything. He only had a few drinks with Mark.
“This is the restaurant’s signature dish, Mr. Warren. Give it a try? Ellie took the initiative to pick up some food and put it on Alex’s plate.
Alex glanced at Ellie and finally ate something.
By the time the four of them walked out of the restaurant, it was past nine o’clock.
“Mr. Zhan looks very tired. Go back and have a good rest Mark sensibly left with Lacey first.
“Mark, my friend needs to see me. I’ve called a driver for you. You go home first” The two came to the car, and Lacey gave Mark the car keys.
Mark clenched the car keys in his hand. He looked at Lacey and said gently, “Is it the friend who kept texting you during dinner?”
Lacey nodded awkwardly. “I’m sorry, Mark. My friend is in trouble, so I have to go there.”
“Is it Sebastian?” asked Mark.
Lacey’s gaze dodged, but she nodded. “He’s being stalked by reporters at a club. I’m really worried, so I want to pick him up.”
“You are not worried about your husband going home alone after drinking?” Mark said to Lacey in this tone for the first
time.
The atmosphere became awkward instantly, and Lacey didn’t know what to say.

After Mark left, Ellie got ready to leave as well. “Mr. Warren, your chauffeur should be here soon. I’ll leave first.”
“We’re going the same way. I let my chauffeur get off work.” Alex stood in place and looked down at Ellie.
“Alright. My car is there. Please wait a moment, Mr. Warren.” Ellie caught the fatigue in his eyes and didn’t ask any fur questions.
“I’ll
go with you.” With that, Alex put his
arm around Ellie’s shoulders and walked with her toward where her car was parked.

Alex had a superior height and figure. He was dressed in a black business suit, looking handsome and elegant.

Ellie was dressed in a simple mix–and–match outfit with a light–colored coat over it. The wind blew, lifting her long hair that scattered on her shoulders. She looked capable yet gentle.
The streetlights cast long shadows of the two, so beautiful that passersby couldn’t help but stop and look at them.
“We haven’t met for half a month. Did you miss me?” Alex suddenly asked, and then Ellie stopped.
Under the streetlight, the two looked at each other. Ellie was stunned by Alex’s question.
“I knew you would have this expression.” Alex looked down at Ellie.
Ellie awkwardly fixed her hair that had been messed by the wind.
“I miss you a lot,” before Ellie could totally relax, Alex suddenly said.
Alex’s hands were shoved into the pockets of his suit trousers. He leaned down slightly and looked into Ellie’s eyes.
