With Ellie’s arrival, the room was filled with waves of boisterous excitement. Ellie stood awkwardly in the middle of the room, feeling a strong urge to escape.
“Don’t get too excited, let me introduce everyone, Lacey said, but Haley stood up and interrupted. “Lacey, let me handle the introductions,” she insisted.
Lacey looked at Haley in surprise and said, “Haley, you two know each other?”
Haley nodded as curious eyes turned toward her. She walked over to Ellie, who seemed completely uninterested in acknowledging her presence.
Haley didn’t feel embarrassed at all, smiling as she said, “I never would have guessed that Lacey’s friend is actually Alex’s
sister!”
As soon as Haley said this, the room erupted in gasps and playful teasing.
“Wow, so she’s Alex’s sister? She’s really stunning!”
“Hey Haley, does your sister–in–law have a boyfriend?”
“No wonder Lacey praises her so much. She’s truly a stunning beauty!”
Hearing everyone’s compliments, a hint of embarrassment passed over Haley’s eyes. As the top socialite in Jaslands, she was always the center of attention wherever she went, never having her spotlight stolen.
She never imagined that one day someone would compare her to Ellie, a poor girl from the countryside.
Pushing down her irritation, Haley smiled at Alex, “Even though Ellie doesn’t have the same last name, Alex is very fond of his sister and keeps a very close watch on her.”
Listening to Haley’s words, Ellie felt a wave of irony. Even a fool could sense the hidden suggestions in her statement. Just as Ellie was thinking of an excuse to leave, several people came over, grabbing her and pulling her to a seat.
Ellie looked left and right in shock to find a handsome guy on each side, both staring at her intensely.
Ellie’s mind was a mess. She wanted to get up but was too scared, wanted to leave but couldn’t find a good reason, so she just sat there, avoiding looking at Alex.
“Since everyone’s here. Let’s play truth or dare. We’ll start with three questions…” someone suggested, and everyone agreed excitedly.
Ellie couldn’t refuse and had to play the game. Unexpectedly, in the first round, Alex lost to Layton. Ellie held her cup tightly, watching Layton smirk as he asked Alex, “Alex, who’s the woman you love the most?”
Alex said, “My mom!”
The room burst into laughter, and Ellie couldn’t help but smile. She thought he would say Haley.
Layton asked, “Who do you most want to marry?”
Alex said, “Obviously, my girlfriend Ellie saw Alex put his arm around Haley with a gentle and suggestive look, which made

The room’s atmosphere reached a new high as everyone cheered and laughed, but Ellie felt as if she was trapped in an
icebox.
With her heart aching. Ellie looked over at Alex. Alex was leaning in to kiss Haley, who shyly turned aside. Alex playfully pinned Haley to the sofa and leaned in again.
Haley playfully begged for mercy. Alex chuckled softly, cupping her face gently, as they gazed deeply into each other’s eyes.
