I tried moving my hands but found them stuck, my eyes darted around frantically but was met with suffocating darkness. My lips parted in a scream, but only the sound of my pounding chest was heard.
My mind replayed the events of the day like a broken record stuck on repeat. It was my birthday, the day I had come of age to receive my inheritance which my father left before he passed away. I recalled arriving at the lawyer’s office full of smiles. I could feel my wolf. Kira doing little somersaults as we were both excited.
Finally I was going to be given respect in this pack.
I was going to be worthy enough to be his bride.
“Congratulations Miss Wellington!” Mr Jonas, the lawyer, said, handing me a purple file.
Estate.”
I took it from him giddy with excitement as I stared at the gold erested letters “Land deed for Aurora B
I shook his hands–hurriedly and exited the office, clutching the document like gold under my arms.
I know my excitement seems a bit too much but for 8 years, I had been bullied by members of my pack as an omega, having a weak wolf and having absolutely nothing to my name. The only good thing I had going on was my mate, Felix Greywood who was the son of the alpha and my best friend Willow,
I was always looked at as beneath his status because of my background and parentage, but all that changes today.
The scene shifted and I remembered being at the bridal shop with Willow, putting finishing touches to my wedding dress.
“Mal, you look like a princess!” Willow cooed from the doorway. Felix isn’t going to be able to take his eyes off you”
I stood In Front of the large floor to ceiling mirror, twirling around and admiring my reflection.
“With my hair done and a touch of rogue to my cheeks I’m going to be drop dead gorgeous.” I squealed.
Willow walked up to the stand next to me in front of the mirror, resting her head on my shoulders.
“I can’t wait, Willow.” I grasped her hand gently, feeling tears well up. Finally it looks like everything is falling into place. * Guess what?” She asked, her eyes twinkling with mischief plastered all over her face.
“What?”
“We are going clubbing today to celebrate your inheritance. And also for a little pre wedding party!” She shrieked, doing a little dance.
I felt skeptical, preferring to lay in bed fantasizing about how tomorrow will be.
But Willow, the wedding is tomorrow morning. What if we get drunk? I don’t want to be hungover on my wedding day.” “Cmon Mal. It’s just for a few hours and besides, I also invited Felix. I wanna party with nly bestie one last time before she
I blushed at the title but still didn’t feel like going out. But hearing Felix was going to be there and the puppy look on her face, I swallowed iny words and gave in.
I remembered the club, the loud music pulsating through my vs. I could feel the vibrations in my soul as we entered, the colorful lights blinding me momentarily. Felix’s handsome face greeted my eyes immediately as I adjusted my sights to the

I remember breathing in his scent deeply as he hugged me, my wolf howling in approval. His cheeky grin as he handed me a drink, his brown eyes looking mesmerizing as the lights danced in them.
“Cheers!” Willow called out as we clink our glasses together and down our drinks.
“Congratulations sugarplum” Felix said and I beamed up at him, resting my head on his shoulder.
My mind flashed to the feeling of my legs turning to jelly. My mind is a jumbled mess and my vision blurring
I remember trying to tell Felix to take me home but my words were nonsensical, my voice slurred.
I stood up shakily, looking down at my hands I saw triple and shook my head, trying to restore my brain to normal but it only got more foggy.
I took unsteady steps towards the exit, grabbing anything and everything to aid my progress, then I felt a hand pull me back and a sharp sting on my neck.
And it all went black………
“Silly, silly Mallory.” A voice floated to my ears
Along with the sound of giggles: Willow.
“Was she drunk?” I struggled to locate the sound, reaching into the darkness for her but my hand grasped nothing.
1 felt my throat closing up and my chest heaving greatly like my heart would burst out. I felt Kira unsettled, whining in discomfort like a poison had gone through me altering my body’s chemistry.
“You stupid gullible Mallory. The voice, sounding so familiar to Felix’s, floated into my ear again.
I closed my eyes, willing it to stop as it seemed to come from every direction muddled together, blurring dreams from reality.
Suddenly it stopped.
My eyes snapped open and I sat up with a start, gasping for breath, my heart racing.
“Where am I?”
I looked around, my head struggling to place my surroundings and my mind, a mess. My bedroom looked like an hurricane ran through it.
Clothes were strewn around and my drawers removed and searched.
“Who did this? Why?”
Then it hit me. I hurried to my satchel bag and found it turned inside out. My inheritance documents are missing-
I shook the bag blindly, willing the document to drop out from whatever hidden compartment it was in
I gasped as another realization hit me. My wedding day.
I looked at the time and seeing it was still early I proceeded to look for Felix and inform him of my missing documents..
I paused by the vanity and picked up a jewelry box containing the ring I had gotten for Felix, thankfully the thief didn’t take that also.
I mindlinked Willow as I walked to Felix room and sighed tired as I was met with silence.

She’s probably drunk and passed out somewhere.” I muttered to myself crossing the corridor and arrived at the door.
1 contemplated knocking but decided against it as he could still be sleeping.
I decided to spend a few cozy moments with him before the wedding time and entered the room.
Thud
I felt the box hit my feet as the sight I met left me dumbfounded.
