**Mallory”
I opened my eyes but was met with a suffocating darkness making it difficult for me to breathe.
In the distance I caught sight of a light and made my way towards it, stumbling in the dark. The light seemed to move farther with each step I took and the weight of the darkness hit me, making me crash to the floor.
“Hello! Anyone help me please,” I cried out, my voice echoing around me.
I felt a cold air on my skin, making me shiver involuntarily and panic crept up my neck.
Where was 1
“The strength you seek is within you.”
A calm voice floated past my ear and I turned around hastily, trying to catch where it was from.
“Who’s there? Who said
I shrank back in fear and stretched my hands in the darkness, hoping to catch the speaker.
“What do you want from me! Where am I
My mind raced, I remembered being in the garden with Ivan and recovering my mother’s necklace. I tried remembering what happened after but my mind drew a blank.
“Was I kidnapped? Oh no,
oh no.
I began hyperventilating, signalling a panic attack coming on.
Then I felt a cold touch on my shoulder. The light was so close to my face, emitting a warm glow, making my heart calm down.
“W–who are you?” I stammered.
“The strength you seek is within you. Now sleep, child.” The voice calmly said.
“Wait! Who are you?” I yelled, my voice drowning out as I lost consciousness.
“Mallory? Mallory?”
I opened my eyes to the sight of Ivan’s worried face and his gentle voice in my ear. I struggled to place my surroundings and realized we were in the vehicle.
“What happened?” I croaked, my throat feeling patched.
“You passed out after putting on the necklace, Are you feeling alright?” He asked, handing me a bottle of water and a towel.
“I’m fine now. Thanks” I answered, gulping down the water immediately and felt my body gradually return to normal.
He looked at me, his eyes scrutinizing my face, clearly not believing my answer but he nodded and said nothing else.
“Where are we going?” I asked, knowing we were supposed to spend the night at the palace and return the next day.

Chapter 101
“Home.” The word sounded glistant and unfamiliar, and I wondered if I’d ever be able to consider Ravenwood Park my
home.

I noticed my gown had been changed to a blue tracksuit and suckers which made my cheeks turn bright red as I assumed he changed my clothes.
“Your dress was stained. I had one of the maids change you before we left.” He added as if reading my mind.
“Ohh, thank you. But why are we leaving so early?”
“I didn’t feel comfortable with us staying over, given the incidents of the evening.”
I nodded slowly and turned my eyes to the road, facing the eerie glow cast on the deserted road by the car’s highlight.
The journey continued in silence as the darkness of the light enveloped us. As we drove, the car’s steady hum began to falter, and the driver pulled over.
“What’s going on?” Ivan reached over and asked the driver.
“I’m not sur
sure. Alpha: looks like the engine is having a problem. I’ll check it out.” The driver replied, getting out and going to examine the engine. Ivan joined him immediately leaving me in the car.
I stared out the window, feeling uneasy at the sight of the tall trees and bushes that stood on each side of the lonely road.
“We have a problem,” Ivan announced calmly, getting into the car. “We have to camp here tonight.”
“What? Here?” I cried, worried about hunters and rogues.
“It’ll be fine. This is a safe area and there’s a really pretty stream not far from here. We can camp around there.”
“Uhm, okay,” I replied, not believing his words.
As Ivan joined the driver to discuss how to properly park the car, I wandered into the woods, eager to see the stream and drawn by the gentle hum of water flow.
I turned a corner, and in my sight was a crystal clear stream that ran over smooth stones, the moonlight casting an ethereal glow across the ripples
“Wow. It’s so beautiful.” 1 murmured, held spellbound by its glow I walked forward and dipped a curious finger in and my smile went wide as I discovered it was warm.
Not able to resist, I slipped off my clothes and shoes and stepped into the warm shimmering water. I closed my eyes and exhaled feeling the knots in my shoulders loosen up.
My mind drifted back to the light I saw in my dream. Who was she? What does she mean?
“The power you seek is within you. What does that even mean? A wolf less omega in the body of an equally weak Luna.
What power could I possibly possess?
A splash shattered cut into my thoughts and my eyes snapped open to find Ivan bathing at the other end of the stream, his clothes on the bank.
He dove beneath the surface sending the water rippling.
I swam further, aware of my nakedness and my head was the only visible part of me in the stream.
As he emerged from the water, I felt my cheeks heat up as I gazed at his perfectly toneil abs, water droplets glistening on his skin, and his eyes looking more breathtaking in the moonlight

He swam close but still kept a distance from me. “Me and Felix discovered it when we were kids. We got lost chasing a snake and stumbled upon it.”
I kept quiet and nodded, not knowing what reply to give and hoping I hadn’t stirred up any bad memories for him. The night seemed too peaceful for bad energy.
“How come you don’t have a wolf?” He asked, swimming in circles around me.
“She went silent wh
Felix rejected me, the pain was too much I replied sorely. I missed her so much.
“I’m so sorry.” Ivan said, closing off the distance between us as he took my hand in his.
I tried to reply but felt the words get stuck in my throat as I could feel the heat coming from his body. his sharp gaze piercing me.
I pulled my gaze away from his but found it returning as he gently steered my head to face him, and his lips grazed mine.
