Chapter 12
“Get the car ready!” I ordered Kelvin and walked out of the office
It’s been a while since I met with any alpha in close quarters and wasn’t looking forward to this either.
“Silver?” I called out silently.
as
“What? You told me to shut up, remember?” I rolled my eyes at as antics. I definitely had the wrong wolf.
“Do you think people have found out?” I asked, ignoring his jab
“I don’t think so. You’ve managed to keep it hidden for 10 years!
“I hope so. I can’t risk my pack getting attacked.” I murmured.
I walked towards the preoccupied with my thoughts and collided with Mallory.
garage,
“Hey” I steadied her. “You should be resting.”
“I’m okay, not so tired. Heading out?” She asked, keeping her gaze averted.
“Yes”
“Is this connected to the incident that happened earlier?”
“Yes, it is. I’m heading over to Moonshade Pack with Kelvin. I need to speak to the Alpha.”
“Can I come with you?” She asked nervously.
“Yes!” Silver screamed excitedly inside. I had second thoughts about being in close quarters with her, giving my loss of
control.
“You can come. But stick close to me at all times.” I replied. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving her alone in the pack anyway.
We arrived at the packs‘ den later that evening. We were immediately surrounded as we got out of the car, each member eyeing us suspiciously, the tension between us overbearing.
The large doors of the mansion were thrown open and a beautiful beta walked out.
“Welcome Alpha Ivan.” The beta greeted me.
“I’m Shireen, Alpha Tommen’s sister. I’m afraid my brother isn’t back from the convention yet,” her voice dropped with a sweetness that irked me.
I eyed her and nodded. “We’ll wait. We have important matters to discuss.”
“Sure, sure, come in and make yourself comfortable.”
As we entered, I noticed Shireen’s gaze on Mallory, filled with distaste, I scowled and shielded Mallory behind me with a low growl in my throat.
She turned to me, her eyes sparkling with amusement,
“You brought your little Luna.” She turned to address Mallory.

“That’s good to hear. We all thought you were going to kick the bucket for real this time.” Shireen answered, a sickly sweet smile plastered on her face.
“That’s enough, Shireen.” I barked, startling both of them..
I was losing my temper often these days and it had something to do with the damn mate bond.
We entered a large visiting area, and Shireen took her leave.
“Kelvin?”
“Yes, Alpha.” He answered, walking up to me.
“Keep an eye on the members and that Shireen girl. They are up to something.” He nodded and retreated outside.
“Anything the matter?” I asked as she shifted uncomfortably.
“I know her. She admitted and took a seat.
“How?” I asked, puzzled. I was aware the alpha had a sister but this was my first time seeing her.
“We… We went to high school together. She’s Felix’s ex–girlfriend. She bullied me in school.”
My expression shifted at the revelation, and my mind began churning, analyzing the events.
What if the accident on my pack was no accident?
Felix. Who knew if he was still in contact with her?
“Really?” I replied, keeping my voice calm.
“Yes. They broke up after he found out he was mated to me and she left the school shortly after the incident.” She concluded.
“Do you think Felix is still in communication with her?” She asked, a brooding look on her face.
I’m not sure. But I’ll find out.” I said as I walked towards the door. I knocked twice bringing Kelvin inside.
“Be a good beta and find our host for me,” I instructed.
He hurried off, and some minutes later, Shireen walked in, flanked by two maids who massaged her hands and fanned her.
“Don’t you think it’s rude to leave your guests unattended?” I demanded.
“Ohh my, I’m sorry, Alpha Ivan. I assumed my presence wasn’t needed.” She replied, blowing invisible dust off her fingers.
“It is until your brother returns,” I answered and took a seat next to Mallory.
We sat in the waiting room, silently for a few minutes before Mallory broke it.
“I lacard you were engaged once, what happened?” She piped up, surprising me. I hadn’t expected her to go for the kill straight away.
“I didn’t expect you to be involved in gossip.” Shireen fired back, her face twisting to a scowl

“Every lady has a thing for gossip, at least I have the decency to confirm my gossip. So do tell Mallory replied, a sweet smile
on her face.
“Humph! I’ll only tell you because I don’t want lies to spread about me. I broke up with Alpha Felix of Moonpeak Pack out of my free will. I saw he had found his mate and honorably decided to leave.”
She replied..
Mallory furrowed her brows, not believing Shireen words.
“Really. I heard you were so bitter, you threatened to commit suicide so your brother had to lock you up here.” She answered innocently, hereyes sparkling. I hid an amused smile nowing what she was trying to do
“1-1 did not! Why will I attempt suicide over an alpha who left me for a good–for–nothing, wolfless omega.
“Can you hear yourself?” Mallory pressed on. “That’s exactly why you should attempt suicide. Because all your beauty, your wealth and status weren’t enough to keep a man.” She finished with a mocking smile playing on her lips.
Shireen remained quiet, stunned at Mallory’s reply,
“Well, the no–good omega is dead. Poor weak thing, killed by rogue wolves. Who’s the loser now? At least I’m alive.” She thundered, eyeing Mallory with venom.
“You might be surprised, Shirley.”
“It’s Shireen.” She pouted.
“Well, Shireen, things aren’t always as they seem,” Mallory said flatly and walked back to take her seat, a calm smile on her face. I almost applauded.
“Y–you!” Shireen pointed, her face beet red with anger.
“That’s enough Shireen. My Luna was just concerned.”
–
If you need me, I’ll be getting your rooms set up; my brother will arrive very late.” She spat and hurried off with her maids behind her
“Good girl,” 1 commented as the doors closed looking pleased a Mallory.
She hid a smile but that didn’t stop the faint color from tinting her cheeks.
“This was just the beginning. One by one they’re all going to pay
