Chapter 4
“G–Greywood?” I shook my head, unable to believe it. This was a too much
“You’re his brother? Are you sure? Maybe it’s just a coincidence with the surname.”

He walked to the window, his lips set in a straight line. “Looks like the story isn’t very popular.”
“Story? What story?” I asked, my voice coming out as a whisper
“Tan the first son of Alpha Greywood. A bastard son actually,” he chuckled quietly. “My mother was an omega who fell in love with him but was forbidden to get married to him. She got pregnant and had to leave her father.
She brought me up till I was two years before I began to live with Alpha Greywood.
I heard she got sick shortly after and died”
“I’m so sorry.” I choked out. I understood very well the pain of losing a parent, especially as a kid.
“Don’t be. I have made my peace with it.” he continued “I lived in Moonpeak Pack for most of my teenage years. I was three years old when Alpha Greywood got married and Felix was born.
He gripped the window bars and shut his eyes tightly. I felt my heart go out to him as I recalled what a cruel woman the late Luna of Moonpeak had been
Felix’s mother made my life hell, never stopped reminding me of my parentage and throwing insults at my late mother. Felix and I got along for most parts of our childhood until the day of the biannual full inoon festival”
I sat up in anticipation, wondering what could have happened on the festival day. It was a day of celebration to the moon goddess and also allowed werewolves to transform for a longer amount of time.
If you were a wolf who hadn’t found your mate, there was every chance you’d recognise them that night.
“Are you still listening?” His voice crashed into my thoughts.
“Yes.. my mind wandered elsewhere for a minute.”
That night, I gained my wolf and transformed…into a Lycan woll”
“Y–you are a Lycan”
I felt the breath knocked out of me as I stared at him, eyes bulging. I had always heard of the Lycan prince who was banished but I took it as a rumor.
Lycans were rare. Never seen in our pack or its environs.
“Yes. I’m not sure how that came about as there were no record of lycans in my parents bloodlines.
Alpha Greywood was not aware of this so you can imagine the shock and chaos that day. “Everything changed. I was feared and constantly looked at like an outcast. Felix turned hostile, even father.”
“I didnt understand how big of a threat I was until I was framed Accused of working with witches. Morningdew was found
in my quarters and
guess. Felix did it right?”“”
Morning dew was extremely lethal to werewolves and peculiar among witches.

“He did. I was banished immediately without even a trial. Looked like everyone was in a hurry to get rid of me,
Felix struck in the back with a poisoned arrow and left me for dead. Lucky for me I was rescued and here I am?
A slight smile that didn’t reach his eyes played on his lips as he recalled the story.
“Don’t!“:
-Don’t wha” I was cut off
Don’t look at me with pity. I don’t regret that it happened, in fact I’m more than grateful it did.
I have my pack now
I still didn’t feel at ease with his words. He had a pack now but what of his wife? I stole her body and killed her!
“Uhm what about your wife? I didn’t mean to I didn’t know I’d still be alive.” I maintained a safe distance from him, scared hed lash out again.
A look of pain crossed his face which was masked by a scowl almost immediately
“Evie had always been sickly. Her father rescued me when I was left for dead and helped me build up this pack. We got married after. She had a limited time to live so I guess the time is here.”
He walked up to where I sat, making me shrink further in the chair as he crouched down to my level. He stared at me so deeply I found it hard to pull away. I felt myself getting sucked into his deep blue orbs.
“Mallory, what do you want?” He questioned, his gaze never leaving mine.
I gazed back at him, images dancing in my sight. Images of Felix marking me, the day I met willow, the times we spent together, my family house. Kira, my poor wolf, was dead. Because of them.
I felt the familiar pain, but it didn’t hurt. It turned into a rage. A fiery fire that spread from my heart, to my head and every part of me
“Revenge. I want them to pay, pay for killing me and stealing my inheritance and betraying my trust.”
We sat in the dimly lit room, our eyes locked in a silent standoff and the air thick with tension.
“I don’t trust you.” He said, his voice low and even.
“I don’t expect you to. But I need your help to take them down.”
He chuckled and stood up, bit breaking the eye contact still. “What makes you think I want to help you?”
“Don’t you want revenge? Felix framed and cast you out. He left you for dead. We can work together to take him and Willow down.” My eyes searched his face as he said nothing, just staring silently at me.
“I don’t care about revenge but let’s do it.”
“Wha why did you agree if you don’t want revenge? What do you hope to gain?”
Ha sudden acceptance spooked me and I had a feeling that the sue with him and Felix was more than meets the ey

Chapter 4
“Here, put this on.” He handed me a tiny amulet, foreign writings inscribed on its surface.
I took it and placed it around my neck, wondering what it’s for but decided not to ask.
It was probably something precious to his wife.
I held his gaze, searching for something, anything. But his mask was firmly in place as he finally broke eye contact. He dialed a number on the Landline and requested for a maid to report in my quarters.
“Get dressed and meet me outside in 30 mins. We need to talk about strategy, partner,”
