Chapter 25
Cat Mendoza:–
“Hey, how are you feeling now?” Alexander asked after we landed in Italy and driving towards Laila’s apartment located in Rome where Jericho is living with her. I rested my head on Alexander’s shoulder and rubbed my belly.
I was scared of anything happening to it, because I can’t even imagine what Laila must be going through now, and I don’t want to go through that same thing as I am already connected and so much with the life growing up inside of me.
My baby. Alexander’s baby. Our baby.
“Scared and worried about Laila as I don’t know what to expect when I go over there. Especially with you. She is going to ask so many questions regarding what I am doing with you and how did I come to find out about her losing the baby.” I gave him the honest answer “Alexander, will you please make a promise to me.”
“What promise?” he asked confused, placing his hand on mine that was resting on my belly and caressed it gently.
“Will you promise to protect our baby no matter what because I don’t want to lose it. I am scared after hearing about Laila and her baby. Although I didn’t know she was pregnant with Jericho’s baby. The man I once loved so much.”
“Hey, listen to me. I promise. I promise to protect you and our baby. Nothing is going to happen to both of you. Don’t be scared because I am with you.” he murmurs kissing the side of my head “I am here for both of you and not going anywhere.”
“Thank you,” I spoke in barey an audilbe voice
“And, don’t worry about Laila. I will explain to her that I went to your place to bring you here since she needed you and all. Don’t worry about it. I will cover it.” he assures and sighed “I was planning to tell Laila about us, Cat. About the baby but then before I could tell, this incident happened and I had to leave to take care of her.
For the almost last two weeks I have done nothing but took care of her, comforted her along with missing you and worrying about you since you won’t pick up my calls or respond to my texts.
My housekeeper called and told me that you left the penthouse and I was furious at you for doing that because I wanted you. at my place. Under my roof because that’s where you belong. With me. Just don’t do that again please or I will go crazy.”
“You are talking as if you are my boyfriend.” I teased with a giggle “When you are too old enough to be my father, which you are not of course.”
“Of course, I am not because I am your lover and the father of your baby.” he smirks and laughed “Because a father can’t do the things I do to you. Now can I?”
My face burnt red at his words and I jokingly slapped his arm.
“Alexander!” I said, but I giggled before I could even try scolding him.
He let out a low laugh, one that resonate deep in the car and for a moment I felt the tension leave my chest.
“I am only telling the truth, Cat,” he jested, his lip twitching upwards as he looked at me. •
“You might like to argue otherwise but you are fully aware that you are mine. And I belong to you. Simple as that and I don’t give a damn about this damn age thing at all. All I know is that you are the one for me. The one I want to keep in my life.”
I choked, not knowing how to respond anymore. He spoke the truth, something that I was still not prepared to deal with – not to the core, at least. I sought the window instead, and focused on the lovely disorder and bustle of Rome outside the

car’s tinted windows.
“It’s beautiful out there. I have never been to Italy before but have always wanted to.” I found myself speak.

“Then, I will make sure to give you a full tour of Italy for the next few days. You can explore every city during the day time” he whispers in my ear.
“And, then I am going to explore your perfect body whole night and watch you come undone in my arms again and again as you scream my name with me buried deep inside of you.”
“Alexander, we are not going to have sex.” I tell him, only for him to laugh and shake his head amused.
“Sure, we will, kitten, but again I don’t need to tell you that because something tells me you are already aware of that, as the way your body trembles right now with need in my arms as if you want to have car sex with me.” I gulped hearing his words and turned my focus back on the road, refusing to look at him in order to hide my flushed red face.
The closer we got to Laila’s apartment the deeper I began to feel this senseless pain that was suffocating me. I don’t know what to expect over there but still I want to be with her, see her for once to get the assurance that she is going to be fine.
“A few more minutes,” I hear Alexander whisper and his fingers intertwine with mine, anchoring me.
When we got there, Alexander looked at me. His eyes were fixed on my eyes as if looking at me, searching through me for all the concerns, the anxiety I could not express but feel nervous about.
“Please recall the things I told you,” he whispered softly, moving his hand to wipe my forehead where a few strands of hair fell on. “I’ve got you. In any case, I will take care of you and everything is going to be just fine.”
I simply gave a gesture of approval with my head, then, took a rather long breath before I got out of the car. Together we went to the apartment, Alexander’s hand lying confidently on the curve of my spine.
A woman in late forties opened the door for us, dressed up in a maid’s costume and nodded at Alexander and me.
“Mr. Winters.” she nodded politely with her head bent low in respect.
“Where is my daughter?” Alexander demanded in a deep straight voice “Is she awake?”
“Yes, Mr. Winters. Miss. Winters is awake and currently in her room.” she answers “Th…There is something you need to know before you go in Mr. Winters.”
“What is it? Did something happen?” Alexander asked in a worried tone.
“It’s just that Miss. Winters and her boyfriend Jericho had a fight and they broke up so she is crying at the moment. He left her in this hard time, Mr. Winters.” she informs, in a completely geniune and sympathetic tone “She hasn’t eaten either. Anything at all.”
“Wait. What?” I asked stunned “Jericho broke up with her and left her in this state? That fucking bastard. I am going to kill him!”
“Umm, who are you miss?” the maid asked.
“I am…..” before I can reply, Laila’s voice came from the doorway of her bedroom where she stood with her arms crossed around her chest glaring at me with cold gaze.
“Cat? What the fuck are you doing over here? What do you want now?” she yelled “Get out of my place. Right now. I don’t want to see your face ever again. Didn’t you get what you wanted Now get fuck out of here.” she stopped, to look between me and her dad “Wait, what are you doing with my dad?”
