Cat Mendoza:–
“Oh my God!” I shouted out in shock when I entered the apartment with Alexander to pick up the work folder I left behind before he drops me to work. But when I entered. I stopped dead in my tracks to find the whole apartment flooded while Enrique groaned and tried to save the documents, cursing out in anger at the landlord.
“What the hell happened over here, Rique?” I asked looking around and begin to head forward to help him when Alexander stopped me by grabbing my am.
“Are ou serious?” he asks, in a deep and stern tone “You are really going to help him out in this condition with water all over your apartment? What if you slip and end up hurting yourself al the baby?”
I stood there rigid, gazing at Alexander with a simmering anger d yet a new emotion that I could not quite nane. Nobody talked to me like this and even though I wanted to protest still, part of me didn’t want to look away from the storm brewing in his gaze
“But I can’t just stand here and do nothing.” I answered, although I could feel the strength return to my voice even as I uttered the words
“I want that folder and Enrique needs assistance. And, besides he can’t do this alone. And, it’s not just about him only. It’s about my belongings too, because looking at the apartment I am sure they are ruined.”

“Honey, Alexander is right. You are pregnant and shouldn’t be taking any kind of risk. I will manage this, you just take care of my godchild, okay?” he spoke and I laughed shaking my head while Alexander frowned.
I frowned, folding my arms across my chest while Alexander gave me the stink eye, obviously challenging me to say otherwise. No sooner had I opened my mouth to say anything though, Enrique stormed back inside and started cursing under his breath as he presented a large pile of wet documents to us.
“This happened because of that damn pipe that hath been leaking for months, Enrique said again and threw away the wet papers on the counter. “I personally have informed the landlord several times to get it repaired but he has never cared about it Now look–flooded apartment, ruined files. I swear, if he doesn’t-
At that precise moment, the building manager came running through the hallways looking worried. “I really am sorry about this, truly. I have called the fixers and it is going to take a least two weeks to get everything fixed. I will let the landlord know about this. Unfortunately, both of you cannot stay over here until it is repaired.
Enrique sighed and scoffed a few expletives under his breath. “Yeah, great. Two weeks. Well that’s just what we needed” he said, then looked at me and raised his eyebrows.
“I suppose, I’ll be sleeping at Leo’s. In any case, at least he will not mind the company. But, what are you going to do, Cat?” he asked concerned, appraching me, and took my hand in his or tried to as I was pulled back by Alexander who growls possessively “I mean, you are welcome to stay with us at his apartment. It’s a two BR apartment, you can stay in the guest room if you…”
“Don’t worry about it, because she will be staying with me.” Alexander announced, taking me and Enrique by surprise.
“What we both asked, in unison, shocked.
“You want me to stay with you? At your place?” I asked, frowning as I stared at him, with my arms crossed around my chest.

Chapter 91
“Yes, and I won’t take no for an answer” he said without any doubt as if I wasn’t allowed to argue with him at all. “You’re staying with me. My penthouse is really spacious where you will be provided with everything that you require.
I blushed when helplessly comprehending his words. Of course iving with Alexander was never an option, even if just for a few days. This relationship was scandalous at best and I don’t think I will be able to resist this man for long. And yet, there was a sincerity in his tone, a hint of protection and provider like quality that, for some reason, reassured me.
“Alexander. I can find a hotel.” I said as calmly as possible attempting not to pay too much attention to the way my heart raced at the thought of being under his roof “I don’t want to invade in your privacy and don’t want to impose.”
He mimicked my position and tipped his head, arching one bra and pulling the corner of his mouth up in dry determination. “You’re not imposing. I would not have tendered I was not willing for it, Cat. Besides, 1 don’t think it is safe in a hotel compare to thy place or any of your friend’s place. And I’ll feel better knowing you and the baby are nearby.”
I looked at Enrique intending to retort but his words sailed in before me with a mischievous grin on his face. “Oh, honey, just give in. I mean, he’s not wrong–it’s better than spending money for some expensive hotel. Besides, I am sure that the penthouse is much more comfortable than any of the opportunities you have at the moment.”
I tried to scowl but he flashed those darn funny raise–eyebrows and casually signaled with his hand, “Why the heck not? This put me in a rather difficult position, yet observing him it was hard not to smile due to his silliness.
“Fine, even if I agree to live with you, for the time being. What about Laila?” I asked, what was bothering me “What are you going to tell her?”
