I was so fucking mad at Cassie, every part of me was exploding with rage. She denied ever being with me so simply, it was like she didn’t care about all that we did last night. As if every touch meant nothing to her while was here savoring each memory like a precious jewel.
Titus came forward.
‘Stop thinking about it. Perhaps she has some kind of explanation for what happened.
“Explanation? I want to hear them, because how is she going to explain wanting to send us to jail? She knows very well the consequences of her lying.”
Perhaps she lied because she is in love with Jeremy and she didn’t want him to suspect we have anything going on. Titus stiffened on the inside at the words that I said.
Moreover, why would Jeremy lie that Cassie was with him when she was with me through the night? Everything was not clear to me but it would be when Jeremy arrived. I was in the bush at the back of the house waiting for Jeremy to come over. I couldn’t place my hands on who was going to hurt me even now, after thinking about it over and over.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized that it was all a setup. Why did the camera only capture me when I went in and out of the house? Perhaps it was it was a plan from my opponents contesting for the position of the chairman of all Alphas. I didn’t want to dwell so much on the thought. All I wanted to do was to set my wolf free and run around but I wanted to do it with Jeremy to know what was on his mind. He was one of my suspects and I was going to know his true intention toward me when he arrived.
Finally, he arrived and apologized for keeping me waiting. I ignored his apologies and told him what I wanted from him.
“Let us run together. I need a partner to run with. My wolf is all stiff and needs to be free. Can we?” I asked.
Jeremy ran his hand through his hair before he nodded. “Anything for you, Alpha Damien.”
There was something about Jeremy that had flipped, yet I didn’t know what it was. I saw him as a different person from the day we first met. I smiled softly before shifting to my wolf form. He did the same and we started to run.
As Alpha, I could take control of the emotions of his wolf Wolves are usually unable to hide their emotions especially when they are being challenged. It was the same way I was able to know Jeremy’s intention and this was why I had asked him to run with me.
His wolf saw me as an enemy. A man to be conquered. He tried to overtake me each time, but I was naturally faster, and I didn’t even put in any effort. His wolf saw me as an opposition which meant he also saw me as that.
Perhaps this was because of his father. Jeremy’s father was also one of my opponents in the quest to become the chairman of all Alphas. He was probably fighting for his father. This was his true intention for me. Was this why his father sent him here? It had to be, there was no other explanation
eventually, we put a stop to the run, halting next to a shade tree where we shifted to our human form. Titus pressed closely to the back of my skin, I could feel the anger burning from him. He hated that Jeremy and his wolf were in opposition to him. He felt like his position as Alpha was threatened Someone like Jeremy could never contend with us and win. Never.
Titus wanted to tear him apart and I felt like this wasn’t only about his Alpha Ego, it was also about Cassie.
Yet I calmed him but he barely listened to me.
“Why did you lie about being with Cassie last night?” Titus took over when I slipped, taking hold of me which gave him the chance to speak through me.

“Are you doing this because of your father so that he could have the position of the Chairman of Alphas?” Titus growled and I couldn’t get him to slip back to where he belonged, the back of my mind.
Suddenly, Jeremy’s wolf took over throwing a fit that turned Titus into full anger mode. He felt like Jeremy was threatening him by shifting first. Titus took over once and I couldn’t even control him as his Alpha Ego had completely taken over. I had noticed that Jeremy was doing this on purpose trying to contend with us but I didn’t know why.
Titus did not allow me to tell him this, his big body surpassed that of Jeremy’s wolf and with one paw, he could smash him into the ground. However, I knew that Titus wouldn’t attack him as all he wanted was for Jeremy to accept him as his Alpha. To respect him and not dare his authority.
Jeremy and his wolf on the other hand did the opposite of this which further raged Titus. He growled unto his wolf’s face and the latter kept his stubborn trait, refusing to bow.
Just then, Cassie’s smell invaded our nostrils and before Titus could find her, we heard her scream.
“Damien, please! Stop please, don’t hurt him.” She cried.
Looking back at Jeremy, we saw that he had shifted back to his human form. His face had morphed and he no longer looked like he was daring us. What the heck was this snake?!
“Alpha, I am sorry. I am sorry for loving Cassie so much that I protected her in the presence of the police. I was afraid they would send her to jail.” His voice was lower than I expected and he no longer countered us with his gaze.
Wolves couldn’t control their emotions like I said before and this action from Jeremy only ticked off Titus. He touched his face with his paws and even my heart constricted at the thought that Titus would smash his head into the floor from rage.
Cassie screamed again though, sobbing this time.
