Chapter 33 Dislocating Ariana’s Arm
Zoey observed Ariana’s shocked expression, raising her brow slightly. “I shouldn’t be here? You think I should be in there instead?”
Ariana stammered, her lips trembling. “N–no, I just thought…”
“You thought that woman was me,” Zoey said, gripping Ariana’s shoulder harder. “Where do you get all these thoughts, huh?”
Ariana cried out in pain, “Zoey, you’re hurting me!”
Livia scolded Zoey, “Let go of Ariana right now! She came here because she was worried about you.”
Instead of releasing her, Zoey tightened her grip further. “Worried about me? So you brought all these people to enjoy spectacle? Were you trying to protect me, or ruin my reputation?”
Ariana hadn’t expected Zoey to be so strong; the pain cause sweat to bead on her forehead. “Zoey, I swear, I was genuin concerned for you!”
“If you were concerned, shouldn’t you have alerted Russell 1 rescue me? What made you think your feeble skills could si me, huh?” Zoey questioned coldly

Ariana.
Ariana wept, “Zoey, I didn’t want Russell to see something that might be misunderstood.”
“Oh, so you knew there’d be something worth misunderstanding in this lounge? Could you see through walls, Ariana?” Zoey’s tone was sharp.
Realizing Zoey was trying to trap her with her own words, Ariana scrambled to explain, but Zoey didn’t wait–she ruthlessly
dislocated Ariana’s arm.
Ariana screamed in pain, “Zoey, how could you?!”
Zoey’s gaze was icy. “Shut up! Do you recognize that woman or not?”
“I don’t know her!” Ariana insisted, shaking her head.
Zoey noticed Russell’s bodyguards running toward them. “Troy, could you bring that woman over here?”
Troy nodded, signaling the bodyguards. They entered the lounge, holding their breaths against the overwhelming scent in the air, and dragged the disheveled woman out by her hair. The other men in the room were subdued as well.
The woman’s face was marred by blood and scratches. Her skin had a faint pink tint, and her body was marked with red welts. She attempted to cling to Troy’s leg, only to be kicked away mercilessly. The pain seemed to jolt her back to awareness.‘ When she noticed the crowd–and Zoey standing there unharmed–she broke down completely.

“This can’t be happening! Zoey, you were supposed to be in there! Why am I the one like this?” she wailed.
Zoey smiled faintly. “So, why exactly should it have been me in there?”
The woman avoided the question clawing at her unbearably itchy face. “It’s so itchy! What did you do to me?”
Zoey shrugged. “It does look quite itchy. You’ve scratched down to your cheekbones–that’s practically disfigurement. But I don’t know what you’re talking about. I was never here.”
When the woman heard she might be disfigured, she screamed in panic. “No, no! That’s impossible! I saw you and Leanna walk in here. Then you ran into a blind spot of the camera, and when I followed, you threw some powder in my face. That’s all I remember! You must have done something to me. Give me the antidote!”
Zoey clicked her tongue in mock sympathy. “You seem very familiar with this lounge. Looks like you planned to set me up.”
She turned to Ariana. “Even I recognized her. Don’t you? Or are you saying you didn’t bring her in?”
Ariana, gritting her teeth against the pain, denied it. “I really don‘ t know her, Zoey. Please, believe me.”
Zoey smiled. “Of course I believe you. You’re my dear little sister, after all. Thanks to your brilliant idea, I managed to catch the culprit in the act and even see her disfigured. What a productive evening! Truly, you’re my closest family.”
The woman on the floor grabbed Ariana’s skirt, screaming,

“Ariana, you bitch! You gave me this plan, and now you’re throwing me under the bus! You even ruined my face! You’re shameless!” She began clawing at Ariana’s legs, leaving bloody marks.
Ariana kicked her away. “Get off me! I don’t know what you’re talking about. Get away!”
The woman screeched, “I’m Moriah! I did everything because Ariana told me to! She wanted to destroy Zoey’s reputation! Mr. Russell, it’s all Ariana’s fault!”
Russell turned his head away in disgust. “Get this filth out of my sight.”
Troy nodded. “Understood.” He dragged Moriah back into the lounge.
Russell’s gaze fixed on Ariana. “You wanted to harm Zoey.”
“No!” Ariana cried, shaking her head. “I didn’t even recognize Moriah! I swear, Zoey is my sister. How could I do such a thing? She’s lying to drive a wedge between us. Moriah called me before, complaining that Zoey had taught her a lesson. I tried to reason with her, and she admitted she was in the wrong. Before the banquet, she approached me, saying she wanted to apologize to Zoey, so I brought her in. But I didn’t know she would do this.”
She looked at Zoey with tear–filled eyes. “Zoey, I was careless and almost let you get hurt. Can you forgive me?”
Zoey knew Ariana had only given Moriah a nudge in the right direction and let her do the rest. Without more evidence, there wasn’t enough to implicate her fully.

“Fine, I forgive you. After all, you’re my sister,” Zoey said with a smile.
She placed one hand on Ariana’s shoulder, using the other to reset her dislocated arm with a firm push.
Ariana whimpered, “Zoey, about Moriah’s face…”
“People who play dirty will face consequences,” Zoey said with a smirk.
Ariana stared at Zoey, finding her both familiar and completely unrecognizable. Zoey had changed, no longer under her control.
At that moment, several police officers arrived.
The lead officer said, “We received a report of illegal activity here.”
Troy stepped forward. “The suspects are here. They even recorded a video, likely for illegal distribution. The witnesses are these ladies.” He gestured to Livia, Ariana, and the four other
women.
The officer nodded. “Please come with us to the station for questioning.”
Livia glared at Ariana. “You idiot! You’ve embarrassed us all enough already!”
Ariana bit her lip, seething with resentment toward Zoey but not daring to show it.
When Nelson arrived and saw Ariana’s tear–streaked face, he felt a twinge of annoyance. Once charmed by her softness, he now found her weepy demeanor grating. By contrast, Zoey’s

Ariana clung to Nelson’s arm, whining, “I never thought Moriah could do such a thing. Let’s go to the station and give our statements.”
Nelson gave a noncommittal hum and escorted her out, followed by the others. The dramatic episode finally came to an end.
Though Livia and Ariana’s loud voices had drawn attention, rumors about Zoey were quashed when she returned to the banquet hall with Russell, completely unscathed.
Back at the party, Leanna remarked, “Zoey, your sister’s not one to be underestimated. Don’t show her any mercy next time.”
Zoey swirled her glass of red wine with a faint smile. “Of course not. There just wasn’t enough evidence this time. Otherwise, she’d already be enjoying a seven–day vacation in custody.”
Leanna clinked her glass against Zoey’s. “Still, you handled tonight beautifully!”
Zoey grinned, draining her glass. “Thanks.”
“By the way, I noticed that scumbag Nelson looking at you weirdly. Watch out for him.”
“Don’t worry,” Zoey replied with a sly smile. “That scumbag will hand over a billion to me soon enough.”
When Leanna later informed Russell that Zoey had had too much to drink, he entrusted Braylen with hosting duties and personally took Zoey to the car.

Once inside, with Troy raising the partition, Zoey chuckled softly and leaned closer to Russell. “Did you see Moriah earlier? She wasn’t wearing anything, you know!”
