Chapter 37 Should I Blow on It for You?
As the scene unfolded, Russell instinctively moved to rush out of the car.
Troy, fearing Russell’s impulsiveness, quickly slammed the car door shut and charged toward the man instead.
But Troy was a second too late.
Zoey had already raised her leg and delivered a swift kick that sent the attacker flying. The glass bottle he held smashed on the ground, shattering into pieces and emitting a corrosive sizzle. Some of the liquid splashed onto the man’s hand, prompting agonized screams.
Zoey stepped on the man’s hand and ground her heel into it mercilessly. “Talk. Who sent you?”
“No one sent me! Ahhh-!”
Watching Zoey’s cold and menacing demeanor, Troy felt an eerie familiarity. It was as if he were seeing Russell himself. Clearly, they shared the same aura–like a matched pair.
“Madam, allow me to handle this,” Troy said respectfully.
Zoey already had a few suspects in mind. “Lilah from the styling studio, Ariana, or Nelson. None of them are innocent.”
Troy nodded. “Madam, please return to the car. I’ll call the police.”

Since this happened in a public space, involving the authorities was the most appropriate course of action. Zoey nodded and jogged back to the waiting car.
Sliding into the seat and closing the door, she looked at
Russell’s tense expression and flashed him a reassuring smile. “Russell!”
Russell immediately placed his hands on her shoulders. “Are you hurt? Where?”
Zoey shrugged, a playful pout forming on her lips. “I got hurt here. Should I let you blow on it?”
Russell pinched her nose lightly, his tone softening. “You’re such a tease.”
But guilt lingered in his eyes. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you in time.”
“Don’t be so hard on yourself!” Zoey said cheerfully. “I’m perfectly fine, see? Even if you had rushed out, you wouldn’t have made it in time. Everything’s fine, so stop looking so serious. Troy already called the police, and we’ll probably have to go to the station to give a statement.”
Given that this happened in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers, Russell knew that trying to deal with the attacker privately might draw too much attention.
Zoey noticed the furrow in his brow and gently smoothed it out with her fingers. “I’m really okay.
“I’ll arrange a few more bodyguards for you in the future,” Russell said firmly.

Zoey sighed inwardly. One Alissa already made things. inconvenient; adding more bodyguards would make it worse.
“Alissa’s worth ten people all on her own. There’s no need for more. Today, I asked her to leave early. From now on, I’ll make sure she stays with me at all times.”
Hearing this, Russell reluctantly agreed.
Zoey smiled and leaned closer, wrapping her arms around his. But as she adjusted her footing, her eyes caught sight of something that made her freeze in place.
There, on the ground, was the silver pin she had used to fix the zipper on her gown the previous night.
How did it end up here?
Could it be that her gown had torn while she was in the car last night?
But Russell had said that likely the gown was damaged when the maid helping her change.
So, he had covered up the truth for her.
Zoey could imagine the scene and felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment.
Still, Russell had gone out of his way to preserve her dignity, so she decided to play along and pretend nothing had happened.
Soon, the police arrived and took the masked man into custody. Zoey accompanied them to the station to give her statement, listing her suspects.

The investigation didn’t take long, and the culprit was identified as Lilah.
Consumed by anger over how Zoey had destroyed her styling studio in less than a day, Lilah had hired someone to disfigure her in revenge.
Some people could never admit fault, always blaming others for their failures. Lilah was one of them.
The incident, which occurred in a bustling area during rush hour, had been captured by many witnesses on their phones. Photos and videos quickly went viral online.
Once again, Zoey found herself trending on social media.

Ariana’s Fan: “Everyone makes mistakes. Ariana has apologized already. What more do you want? Don’t forget Zoey’s teenage scandals–there were rumors of an affair and abortion!”

others while you lose nothing!”
The heated argument spiraled out of control, and Zoey felt a headache brewing.
Russell noticed her frown. “What’s wrong? You seem upset.”
Zoey flopped onto the bed, her slender legs dangling playfully. “The netizens are at it again, arguing endlessly.”
“Do you want me to handle it?” Russell asked calmly.
Remembering his earlier wish for her to rely on him more, Zoey smiled sweetly. “Sure, just get the comments deleted.”
Russell nodded. “Alright. You rest. I need to do a video call.”
Zoey agreed obediently, watching him leave the bedroom. As soon as the door closed, she let out a deep breath, her cheeks still pink at the memory of last night’s gown incident.
Ducking under the blanket, she rolled back and forth in embarrassment until her phone vibrated.
The message was from Roland:
“Someone’s offering 20 million to hire Dr. Z. Isn’t it hilarious? They’re basically asking you to find yourself!”
“Let me check who it is,” Zoey replied.
She jumped out of bed, grabbed her laptop, and logged onto the Deep Web to investigate the buyer.
The buyer turned out to be a small–time hacker based in Woodmerrow. Upon further digging, Zoey discovered a familiar

phone number in their call records: Nelson.
So Nelson was desperate to find Dr. Z, likely seeking both treatment and revenge.
Zoey smirked and accepted the job, promising to reply in three days.
“Easy money,” she messaged Roland.
Roland was dumbfounded. “Zoey, you actually accepted it?”
“Of course! I’ll need your help soon.”
Roland: “…This feels like trouble.”
Meanwhile, in his study, Russell also logged onto the Deep Web and saw the same offer to locate Dr. Z.
Sensing potential danger to Dr. Z, he decided not to take the job. But to his surprise, the buyer informed him that Hacker H had already accepted it.
Frowning, Russell attempted to track down Hacker H but was blocked by an impenetrable firewall–Hacker H’s own design.
Grinding his teeth, Russell muttered, “Hacker H, you’d better pray I don’t catch you. If I do, you’re done for.”
