Chapter 40 Zoey is Kidnapped
Nelson’s eyes darkened with malice, not expecting Zoey to show him no respect whatsoever
He uncrossed his legs, leaned forward, and lowered his voice, “Stop talking nonsense!”
Zoey responded nonchalantly, “Then why did you come find me?”
“I have a friend…” Nelson began.
Zoey laughed out loud. “A friend out of nowhere?”
Nelson clenched his teeth, wanting to crush her, and hissed, “I’m going to another place for treatment.”
Zoey was about to refuse when two men in suits appeared behind her, pressing a knife to her back.
Nelson smiled with satisfaction. “A knife is just as good as a
gun, so please, go ahead.”
Zoey narrowed her eyes. “Are you threatening me?”
Nelson grinned.
Zoey sneered. “Do you really think this can hold me back?”
Nelson raised his chin, and one of the suited men moved behind Octavio Munoz, the owner of Hines Hall. Octavio froze, looking pale.

“Since you can appear here, it means you’re quite familiar with the owner. If you don’t want anything to happen to him, come with me, understand?”
Octavio looked at Zoey and shook his head. “I’m fine.”
Zoey understood his message–he wanted her to leave him alone and escape as soon as possible.
She darkened her expression. “Don’t touch him. I’ll go with you.”
Nelson grinned wickedly. “Much better this way, no need to involve innocent people. Hand over your communication device, just in case you try something!”
Zoey responded, “I didn’t bring one.”
Nelson signaled to the suited man. “Check her pockets.”
After a quick search, the man nodded. “She only has a set of silver needles, no communication device.”
Nelson stood up. “Take her!” He then turned and walked toward the door.
Before Zoey was dragged away, she gave Octavio a slight nod, signaling him to stay calm.
The suited man shoved Zoey into a van with blacked–out windows. Once inside, her hands were cuffed behind her back, and her eyes were covered with a blindfold.
Zoey hadn’t expected Nelson to kidnap her. In her past life, she had been blinded by a filter, thinking he was the best man in the world. Today, he kidnapped her, and he would pay for this!

Having been given a second chance at life, she was ready to make sure this pair of scumbags received a miserable end.
No time like the present. Nelson, prepare to be completely wiped out!
Meanwhile, Roland, wearing a baseball cap, walked into Hines Hall and noticed a suited man standing next to Octavio. The old man’s face looked grim.
Roland sensed something was wrong and approached the counter. “Hey, give me some Angelica root.”
The suited man coldly replied, “We’re closed, come back tomorrow.”
“What time is it? Hurry up and find it for me, I need it urgently!” Roland refused to back down.
The suited man glared at him and lowered his voice, “Are you looking for trouble?”
Roland sneered, “I grew up being scared of nothing, if you’re brave enough, come out and fight! If not, I’ll come in!”
Before the man could react, Roland jumped over the counter and threw a punch at his face. The suited man immediately drew a knife.
Octavio quickly moved out of the way, and Roland and the suited man started to fight.
Since the previous customers had been sent away by the suited man, the store was now empty except for the three of them.
Roland kicked the man in the chest, sending him flying.

At that moment, Octavio grabbed a scale used for weighing herbs and smashed it into the man’s face.
The man immediately began to bleed from his nose.
Roland stepped on the man’s chest and turned to Octavio. “Where’s Dr. Z?”
Octavio anxiously replied, “Dr. Z was taken by this man’s boss!”
Roland immediately realized: Nelson had kidnapped Zoey!
He increased the pressure underfoot. “Where did they take her?”
The suited man remained tight–lipped. Roland stomped hard, causing the man to pass out.
He turned to Octavio. “Call the police, I’m going to find Dr. Z!”
Octavio nodded. “Got it.”
Roland quickly left and returned to his car. He started tracking Zoey’s location and found that her phone was nearby, less than a hundred meters away.
He got out of the car and followed the signal, only to discover that Zoey’s phone had been left in the car.
He then tracked Nelson’s location and, after a moment’s thought, decided to let Russell handle him. It was the perfect opportunity for Russell to clean up his mess.
Roland went into a nearby phone repair shop, bought a new SIM card, and called Russell using that number.

Russell glanced at his vibrating phone on the table. A strange number appeared on the screen.
He picked it up and swiped to answer.
The voice on the other end had been altered. “Your good nephew has kidnapped Dr. Z. The location is a villa on the outskirts.”
Before Russell could respond, the call ended.
Russell’s face darkened, his lips a thin, hard line.
The noisy room fell silent immediately.
“Mr. Maddox, what happened?” someone asked.
“Yes, if you need anything, just let us know,” another person chimed in.
Russell carefully considered the call’s validity but chose to err on the side of caution. He looked at Troy.
Troy immediately understood and pushed Russell out of the
room.
As they exited, Russell relayed the details of the call, and Troy quickly contacted their team to head to the villa on the outskirts.
Meanwhile, Zoey was taken to a room in the villa on the outskirts.
Nelson raised his chin, and the blindfold was ripped off Zoey’s
eyes.

She surveyed the room and realized this was where Nelson and Ariana had their secret trysts.
“Now tell me, what did you do to me?” Nelson demanded.
Zoey replied, “If the patient has a problem, can you blame the doctor?”
Nelson grabbed her by the throat. “You’re just a stubborn fool. If you don’t treat me now, I’ll have someone shoot you!”
Zoey smiled. “Fine, but will you let me go once I heal you?”
“Of course!” Nelson released his grip.
Zoey said, “Then lie down on the bed, take off your shirt and pants, and I’ll treat you with acupuncture.”
Nelson untied his tie, took off his shirt, and then removed his suit pants, lying down on the bed.
Once Zoey’s hands were free, she stretched her wrists and took out her needle kit. She stood beside the bed and began the treatment.
Nelson warned, “Don’t get any funny ideas, or I’ll send you to your grave.”
Zoey nodded as she inserted one needle after another into his body.
Nelson felt his body start to heat up, especially a certain area, which began to show signs of arousal.
Half an hour later, as Zoey removed the needles, she remarked, “You’ll need one more treatment.”

Nelson grunted. “You have to heal me today.”
“That’s impossible. There’s no disease that can be cured with just one acupuncture session.”
Nelson dressed himself, then gestured to the suited man. “That‘ s fine, but to prevent you from trying anything or running away, you need to leave something behind.”
Zoey squinted. “What do you mean?”
Nelson smirked teasingly. “I mean, take a photo and then I’ll let you go.”
