It was nearly 2 o’clock in the morning.
Zoey nestled in Russell’s arms, listening to the man’s heartbeat racing a bit. She furrowed her brow.
“Why is your heartbeat so fast? Let me check your pulse, you don’t have any heart–related issues, do you?”
Russell chuckled lightly and tightened his hand around the girl’s slender waist, “Because you were in my arms.”
Zoey smiled and said, “Then I should stay away from you, otherwise, if it goes on for too long, I’m afraid you might have a heart attack.” Saying that, she wanted to pull away from his embrace.
Russell, on the other hand, held the person tightly, “No, I would rather have a heart disease than suffer from lovesickness.”
Zoey laughed out loud, “How come you’re so good at sweet- talking? Have you said these things to someone before?”
“No, I have only spoken to you.”
“I don’t believe it. Your mouth is so sweet, you must have practiced it many times.”
“Is your mouth sweet?”
Zoey nodded and then shook her head, “Not sure, I’ll taste it before I evaluate.”

The hands, clinging to the man’s chest, slowly cupped his handsome face. The diamond–like lips pressed against his, and a delicate tongue tip gently brushed over those thin lips.
Zoey smiled sweetly and said, “It was really sweet.”
Russell’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down as he held the girl in his arms, a girl he had kept hidden in his heart for many years. He simply couldn’t resist anymore.
He rolled over and pressed down, looking at Zoey beneath him, her eyes blinking playfully. His voice was hoarse, “Zoey…”
Our lips touched, and both of us started breathing heavily.
Russell unbuttoned Zoey’s pajamas with his fingertips, kissing down her fair neck, landing on her delicate collarbone, and then trailing over the peaks.

He looked into the girl’s clear eyes and said, “I will wait for your recovery.”
He turned over and got out of bed, “I’m going to take a shower.”
Zoey sat up and straightened her pajamas, “I can help you.”.
Russell’s eyes darkened, “You helped me?”
Zoey pursed her lips and said, “Come here.”

“Zoey…” Russell knelt on the mattress.
Zoey’s fingertips traced over the man’s solid abdominal muscles, her gaze landing on the black edge around his waist.
Forty minutes later, Russell took Zoey to the bathroom and stood behind her to wash her hands..
Zoey pouted her mouth, and she regretted this decision a little.
Russell appeared satisfied with his clothes, his laughter low and magnetic. He kissed her cheek and said, “Zoey, you are really kind.”
Zoey muttered quietly, “If I had known it would be so tiring, I wouldn’t have helped you.”
Russell closed the tap, took a towel to wipe her hands, and then. turned her around, lifting her delicate chin with his fingertips. “There is a saying,” he said.

Zoey woke up the next day at 9 o’clock in the morning. Russell had left her a message to go to the office at 7:15.
She sighed lightly, unable to help but marvel at Russell’s good mental state.

Carolyn chuckled, “Mom, you sound so fake when you
compliment people.”
Aubrie glared at her and said, “Where is it fake? Everything I said is true.”
Carolyn cleared her throat and said, “You have to say it like me, Zoey was a stunning beauty who everyone adored, like a fairy descended to earth!”
Zoey laughed out loud, Russell’s little niece was really adorable.
“Thank you for Carolyn’s praise, even though it sounded more insincere.”

Zoey said, “I will ask Dr. Z for you, but I think it will take some time for Carolyn to recover this memory. It’s best to let the memory recovery happen naturally, maybe at some point it will come back without consciously trying to remember, as forcing it may not yield good results and could increase mental pressure.”
Braylen also agreed, “Zoey is right.”
Aubrie glared at him and said, “It’s all your fault.”

Zoey smiled and said, “Carolyn is awake now, and she will get better in the future. We should cherish each other more. Aubrie, don’t blame Braylen either, he didn’t mean for it to happen like this.”
