It had been an hour since Yonas left for the hospital. She intended to call him for an update but hesitated, fearing she might disrupt him. So she just kept waiting for his call.
Before she could receive the call, she heard another knock on the door. It was the fourth time of the day that someone had knocked at her door.
She hobbled to the door and opened it, seeing Yonas supporting Yoselin. She said, “Yoselin? Why did you bring her back?”
Yoselin’s eyes lit up when she saw Yasmine, and she hurriedly hugged her. She said, “Yasmine!”
Yonas looked exhausted. He entered the apartment and closed the door behind him with a sigh. Then he said. “She cried the entire time in the hospital and insisted on seeing you”
He hurriedly helped Yasmine and Yoselin to the couch.
Yoselin, excited and tearful, circled Yasmine, as if examining her injuries. She said with teary eyes, “Yasmine, my brother’s
here to rescue us.”
