Chapter 23: Please Forgive Me
Julian frowned. He had maintained a certain distance from Anna just now, not showing any familiarity. Yet, somehow, Arthur still managed to see through him. He had underestimated Arthur’s ability to observe details.
“What’s wrong? Can’t say it?” The man’s eyes narrowed, his tone rising at the end.
“Arthur, there’s nothing between me and Anna. We’re just friends.” Julian smiled gently and shifted his gaze back to the computer.
“Friends? So, five years ago, you helped her obtain a fake passport and escape to Germany?” Arthur continued to ask. “Julian, you’ve kept this secret for five years. Does Anna know that you helped her with ulterior motives?”
“Arthur. I didn’t. I saved her by accident!” Julian finished dealing with the data on his hands and looked towards Arthur. “Five years ago, I found her drowning. From the moment I saved her, everything was just a coincidence.”
At that time, he was grateful that he was a doctor and knew first aid. Otherwise, saving Anna would have been a difficult task. let alone the child.”
“So, her child is hers, and the father is Dominic?” Arthur raised an eyebrow, his face showing a hint of indifference. He played with his long fingers, lazily yet gracefully.
Even in a casual conversation, he exuded a powerful sense of oppression.
Julian took a deep breath and remained silent.
“Is this question difficult to answer?” Arthur asked again, seemingly determined to get to the bottom of it.
“Arthur, I don’t know about her personal matters. I only saved her, and in these years, I’ve been in the country often while she has her own life. As you can see, she is very cautious and wouldn’t share her personal matters with anyone,” Julian said firmly. He didn’t want to tell Arthur anything about Anna without her consent, especially since he was part of the Reynolds family.
“You saved her,” the man simply replied.
“Arthur, even if I saved her, it doesn’t prove anything. I don’t know anything about her private life, and I don’t want 10 get involved,” Julian’s attitude was resolute. “As for whether her child is Dominic’s or not, you can investigate it yourself. Then everything will be clear.”
He never wanted to meddle in Anna’s affairs without her consent. He only wanted her to live a good life, peacefully and steadily.
As for the rest, even if he knew more secrets, he wouldn’t say anything.
“Arthur, what’s wrong with you? You seem very interested in Anna. Is it because of Dominic? Or…” Julian paused.
“My son likes her a lot, and I plan to find someone to be a mother to Jeremy,” Arthur interrupted,
Chapter 23: Please Forgive Me
Julian was left speechless. Did he hear correctly just now?
Were pigs flying now?
And it was a thousand year old pig that was flying!
Arthur actually said that Jeremy likes Anna and that he wants Anna to be his mother?
For a moment, Julian couldn’t say a word. He wasn’t sure if this was a good or bad thing for Anna. Because he knew Arthur too well, his coldness seemed devoid of any emotions, focusing solely on his career. It was hard to imagine why someone like him would need marriage…
In another hospital room, Laura clenched her fists tightly, thinking about Anna’s face. She was furious, completely caught off guard by the tactics Anna used.
“You have to think of a solution, Laura. If this woman repairs the video and audio, we’re finished. They will definitely see that it was me who tripped you,” Leah paced back and forth in the room, unable to calm down.
“Leah, what’s the use of rushing back and forth like this? Will it solve the problem?”
Laura rubbed her temples, thinking of using the same method as five years ago.
To let the Reynolds family witness it.
To completely extinguish the flame of hatred towards Anna in the hearts of the Reynolds family!
And to establish her dominance!
But she didn’t expect that she had prepared a hidden camera and a voice recorder in advance!
But logically speaking, she had set up the scene so well, how was she able to avoid electronic interference?
“But if you continue like this, they will find out about your child’s condition. Are you trying to frame Anna?”
“Shut up!”
Hearing this, Laura got angry, “Why are you speaking so loudly? Are you afraid that my fiancé, Dominic, won’t hear?”
Leah really had no filter!
Leah covered her mouth in fear and walked to Laura’s side, “Laura, isn’t it because I care about you? You’re about to marry into the Reynolds family, what if Dominic finds out…”
“That’s why I can’t let him find out!”
Laura said, covering her stomach. Her child’s examination had revealed a problem, but she couldn’t say it, especially not now, before she brought down Anna!

She couldn’t tell Dominic either.
For her, the child was still a useful bargaining chip!
“What should we do?” Leah asked.
“Leah, how have I treated you all this time?” She grabbed Leah’s hand.
“Of course, very well.”
Leah pursed her lips and said, somewhat afraid. She was born unlucky, but she had always been treated fairly well by Laura.
“If this matter is exposed, you’ll have to bear the blame, but don’t worry, I’ve already prepared an excuse for you.”
Laura leaned in close and whispered many things to Leah.
Finally, she raised her eyebrows and smiled, “Leah, if you can bear the responsibility for this matter, I can arrange any job for you and give you a large sum of money.”
“Laura, are you serious?” Leah quickly nodded, “Okay, don’t worry, I will do as you say!”
At the entrance.
After Anna received the data, she couldn’t wait any longer.
Laura’s attending physician had been inside for a long time, and then came out saying that the fetus had no problem, just a little frightened.
But she hadn’t finished calculating the accounts and didn’t plan to leave now.
“Has she gone in now?” She couldn’t wait another minute.
“Anna, when will you stop? It’s impossible for Laura to frame herself using her own child.”
Dominic looked at Anna angrily.
“Whether she used her own child to frame me or not, we’ll know after watching the video.”
Anna held the exported data in her hand and pushed open the door to the hospital room.
But as soon as she pushed it open, she saw Leah kneeling in front of Laura’s window, crying uncontrollably, unable to stand straight.
And Laura had a pale face, looking lost and helpless.
“Laura, please forgive me. It’s my fault, it’s all my fault. Everything happened because of me!”
