Chapter 33: Is He Unwelcome?
Anna couldn’t help but feel sorry for Jeremy as she carried him to the dining table. Although she was also hosting Arthur, the four of them sat around the table, unsure of what to talk about.
In the end, Mason broke the silence, “Mommy, I don’t think you’re usually this shy. Why aren’t you saying anything today just because Uncle Arthur is here?”
Mason really understood his mommy well.
“I don’t usually talk much at the dinner table,” Anna said seriously, looking at Mason. This child was getting bolder. and if she didn’t discipline him, he would keep interfering.
Moreover, wasn’t it too obvious when he played matchmaker every time Arthur was around?
“We usually chat at the dinner table. You’re just distracted by Uncle Arthur’s charm, so you don’t know what to say.” Mason said with a mischievous smile.
He occasionally pulled Jeremy, who was sitting next to him, into the conversation, “Jeremy, don’t you think so?”
“Mmm.” Jeremy nodded obediently. “Mommy.”
Following Mason’s example, he also called Anna ‘Mommy‘.
Anna’s face suddenly turned somewhat red. Honestly, she wasn’t someone who blushed often, but in this atmosphere, her cheeks felt a bit warm.
These two kids were too good at teasing her. If someone didn’t know better, they would think that Anna blushing because of Arthur’s handsomeness.

Anna suddenly stood up from her seat, took a deep breath, and walked into the kitchen without looking back. She didn’t want to engage in this conversation with the kids. She coldly said, “I’ll wash the dishes, take your time eating.”
Arthur was the same. While those two kids were playing around, he just had a stern expression and didn’t say anything to either confirm or deny their words. Wasn’t this letting the kids be too arrogant?
She wondered what Arthur meant by this. Suddenly, a man quietly entered from outside and leaned against a spot
not far from Anna.
After she finished washing the dishes and turned around, she found herself face to face with him. They were very
close.

“What… What are you doing?” Anna furrowed her brows, missed a heartbeat, and her heart rate noticeably increased. She felt her body temperature slowly rising, and this sensation seemed uncontrollable, blossoming like fireworks from the depths of her heart.
What was wrong with her? How could she feel like this?
“Mr. Reynolds, do you have something to ask?” She really didn’t like being so close to a man. Previously, when Arthur had a stomachache, they had spent the whole night hugging, and she had already started avoiding him when
she saw him.

The two of them were so close, and Anna found it a bit difficult to breathe. “I saw something dirty on your hair, so I wanted to remove it,” Arthur said, extending his hand to pluck a piece of cotton fluff from Anna’s hair and tossing it into the trash can.
Anna took a deep breath. She hadn’t expected Arthur to get so close because there was something on her hair. This feeling made her blush and her heart race.
But she had misunderstood. Arthur wasn’t the type to take advantage of others easily. He had genuinely removed
the lint from her hair.
No… Why did she even have lint on her hair? But before she could think deeply about it, the man spoke again, “Miss Jenkins, are you afraid of me? Or do you dislike me?”
“What?” Anna’s thoughts were interrupted as she looked up into Arthur’s eyes.
“I mean, Miss Jenkins, are you afraid of me or you don’t just like me? Every time you see me, you seem to want to avoid me. Am I that scary?” Arthur’s brows furrowed deeper. Almost every woman tried to get closer to him, so why did Anna act as if she had encountered a demon, always trying to avoid him?
“Of course not, Mr. Reynolds. You’re the most handsome man I’ve ever seen,” Anna replied, her lips dry as she pushed some loose strands of hair behind her ear. “Really.”
“Really?” The man looked at her with doubt and leaned in closer. “Then why, Miss Jenkins, do you seem so unwelcoming to me?”
“I am not unwelcoming to you, Mr. Reynolds.”
She didn’t. It was just that this man naturally exuded an oppressive aura, a strong presence, and an air of nobility that was hard to approach. She didn’t fear him, but she felt that they were from different worlds.
“Since you are not unwelcoming to me, I’ll bring Jeremy here to eat every day. We’ll officially move into Mystic Pines Haven, and our rooms will be right next to yours.”
Arthur’s smile grew stronger. “I can’t cook, and I’m afraid of starving Jeremy, so since we also work at the same company, I don’t think Miss Jenkins would refuse my request, right?”

He said he would come here to freeload on meals in the future, and his house happened to be right next to theirs.

“Why isn’t Miss Jenkins saying anything? Am I not welcome?” Arthur leaned closer to her position.

“Mr. Reynolds, of course, I welcomed you, but I may need to work overtime sometimes, and I’ll also entrust the children to Julian for care,” Anna smiled, trying to maintain a smile on her face. “So I might not have as much time

“Don’t worry, I won’t let you work overtime. Just focus on your work, and you can leave when it’s done,” Arthur said
