When Nyx looked at him, Aurelius quickly regained his composure, and the brief crack in his calm demeanor seemed to vanish entirely. He smiled gently at Nyx, wanting to walk over to her.
“Nyx, look at this.” The Queen, however, pulled Nyx aside, guiding her to look at the gifts prepared by the Third and Fourth Imperial Princes. As their mother, she had to help them more. Such good opportunities like today didn’t come often.
Aurelius was already well–favored, and if he didn’t want to help his younger brothers, that was fine, but at least he should let some opportunities to get close to Nyx go–he couldn’t monopolize her attention.
Aurelius caught the glance from the Queen. His steps suddenly halted, and the thought “Females don’t like partners who are too jealous” flashed vaguely in his mind, causing his expression to change several times.
After a moment, he took a deep breath and turned around, fleeing in embarrassment. This scene caught Nyx’s attention, and she couldn’t help but furrow her brows.
Although Aurelius masked it well, she didn’t miss the brief moment of his loss of composure. Nyx became worried and, forgetting about the gifts, quickly apologized to the Queen before hurrying to catch up with him.
Unfortunately, Aurelius disappeared too quickly, and since she wasn’t familiar with the palace, she lost track of him right after stepping outside.
Trusting her instincts, Nyx walked for a while until she reached a quieter area near a palace, but there were no guards around, and she still couldn’t find Aurelius.
She looked around and sighed, about to turn back when she suddenly heard the continuous jingling of bells.
Before she could react, the crisp sound of the bells rapidly approached–A small white cat with a bell around its neck suddenly leaped out and dashed into her arms.
Nyx instinctively caught the little white cat, holding it tightly. “What’s wrong?” she asked softly.
The little white cat didn’t respond, burying its head in her arms and playing dead, completely still. Nyx shook it a little, but there was no reaction, only the jingling bell engraved with her name ringing.
Nyx helplessly petted the cat’s head and took out a new small ball from her Space Button. “I bought you a new ball.”
This was something she had promised earlier. Hearing about the ball, the little white cat’s ears twitched.
Nyx continued, pointing to the sapphire brooch she was wearing coaxing, “Look at this gem, doesn’t it look like your eyes?”
Upon hearing that, the little white cat lifted its head, cautiously swiping its paw at Nyx’s brooch. It was a beautiful sapphire, perfectly fitting on Nyx’s chest.
He thought, ‘Is this gem bought because of me?‘ To be so loved by a female was something no male could ever dream of, and the little white cat couldn’t help but feel excited.
What made him even happier was that Nyx took out a small comb, engraved with an adorable cat head design, obviously prepared just for him. Immediately, Aurelius meowed in a high–pitched voice, affectionately rubbing against Nyx.
Nyx chose a chair, and as soon as she sat down, without needing to call, the little white cat immediately hopped onto her lap.
After brushing large, fluffy animals so often, Nyx found grooming a kitten to be a completely different experience. With the same amount of effort, she could effortlessly run the brush over the tiny feline’s entire body multiple times.
The comb’s teeth gently scraped along the direction of the fur, and the little white cat seemed to be electrified, lying limp on

In a state of complete relaxation, Aurelius shook his ears, unable to resist asking Nyx quietly, “Do you like my younger brothers?”

He knew that the Queen valued Nyx’s SSS–level mental power and wanted to place all the princes by her side. He didn’t agree with this, but if Nyx liked them-
Nyx was stunned and quickly shook her head. She wasn’t familiar with those princes at all and had never had any such thoughts.

Aurelius understood. He sighed in relief, but soon felt ashamed of his earlier jealousy and lowered his head. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have been so jealous. I’ll work on changing it, but can you not hate me?” His voice grew softer, and the little white cat’s ears drooped.
If Nyx liked them, he could accept serving her alongside his younger brothers, but he couldn’t help wanting Nyx to favor him a little more. No matter what, he couldn’t be as tolerant and generous as the Queen had hoped.
Females didn’t like overly jealous partners. But it was in his nature, and it was hard to change all of a sudden.
“I don’t hate you, I like you,” Nyx interrupted Aurelius’s self–blame. Finally, she understood why this little cat seemed so down and couldn’t help but sigh, “How could I hate you?”
If she didn’t like him, she wouldn’t be holding him and grooming him. She had noticed during that period of loss of control that this little cat had two faces; in reality, he was a fluffy, hot–tempered creature.
Aurelius usually maintained a dignified elegance, choosing every word carefully. Maybe it’s because, as the Crown Prince of the Empire, he was used to presenting himself perfectly.
Nyx reached out one finger and gently tapped the little white cat’s fluffy ear. “You don’t have to be perfect in front of me, relax a little.”
Jealousy was just part of a kitten’s nature; it was not something to apologize for.
It was the first time the little white cat heard Nyx say she liked him. His eyes instantly lit up, and the bell around his neck jingled non–stop. All the tension from the day melted away. He snuggled into the female’s warm embrace, filled with the joy of being accepted.
When the Queen and several princes arrived, this was the scene they saw. The Queen cleared her throat lightly and pulled the princes back.
She decided not to disturb them for now. Watching the little white cat rolling around and being playful in Nyx’s arms, the princes were stunned, rubbing their eyes in disbelief.
They thought, ‘Is this really my Elder Brother? Am I dreaming?
The Queen whispered sharply, “Learn from this.”
If these silly fools had even a tenth of Aurelius’s ability, they wouldn’t be lacking in affection.
Nyx didn’t notice anyone had arrived and kept her focus on brushing the little white cat. The little white cat glanced over but quickly withdrew his gaze, stretching comfortably in Nyx’s arms.
The feeling of being brushed must have been incredible, and the princes couldn’t help but feel a little envious.
But they weren’t close enough to Nyx to make such a request, so they could only watch with longing eyes as their Elder Brother finished getting his fur brushed, looking revitalized, and then played with Nyx using the little ball.

The game of tossing and juggling the ball was childish, but the two of them were having a great time.
The atmosphere was so intimate that others felt like outsiders. But the Second Imperial Prince, not understanding the situation, transformed into a tiger and dashed forward, eagerly watching Nyx.
Nyx was startled by the sudden appearance of the unfamiliar tiger. Immediately after, two more tigers appeared, all three staring hungrily at the little ball in her hands.
Nyx was rendered speechless. No need to ask–these three tigers identities were clear.
Seeing Nyx surrounded by tigers, Aurelius quickly shifted back to his human form and stood in front of her. It wasn’t just a protective stance; his possessiveness showed clearly.
Nyx’s gentle comfort earlier had given him a sense of security, so he felt braver and no longer held back. The Queen couldn’t help but frown, clearing her throat in warning.
She thought, ‘Why is he like this?‘ She had already warned him–females didn’t like males who were too strong or too possessive. What Nyx liked was the kitten’s gentle, non–aggressive nature. Aurelius’s exposed nature might cause him to lose favor.
