His body was already restless, and his mind was gradually becoming excited. Kai couldn’t help but pick up the Guardian Angel Medal again, greedily rubbing it over and over, but it wasnt enough.
He took out a small handkerchief from his chest, clenched it tightly, rubbed it for a while, and then brought it to his nose to deeply inhale. His eyes reflected intense obsession, and he half–khelt on the ground.
It still wasn’t enough. Not nearly enough. His desire to get closer to Nyx drove him. He could barely think, stumbling as he walked outside.
It was already evening. Nyx was lying on the bed playing with her Intelligent Brain when she suddenly heard a knock on the window.
Aurelius sometimes played such tricks, turning into a little white cat to knock on her window, so she wasn’t startled and instead turned with a smile.
But what she saw was a pair of glowing green beast eyes. Nyx was startled. She instinctively pulled back, almost falling off the bed, but then focused and saw that it was a familiar leopard.
“Kai?” Calmly steadying herself, Nyx slowly approached the window.
The leopard stared at her with unwavering eyes, its gaze intense, and said nothing, leaving her even more confused. After hesitating for a moment, she opened the window. Almost instantly, the leopard squeezed through the gap.
Before Nyx could react, it crouched on the ground, rolling and spinning in place, scratching the ground with its front paws, as if venting overly excited emotions, and its thick tail tried desperately to wrap around her legs.
‘It doesn’t seem right. Could it have lost control again?‘ she thought. In his rational state, Kai wouldn’t have just casually barged into Felix’s manor like this.
But Nyx looked around, and no matter how she looked, she didn’t think the black mist surrounding the leord was that thick.
“Do you still recognize me? Can you understand what I’m saying” she asked cautiously.
The leopard nodded and rubbed its furry head against her, making muffled, hoarse sounds, repeatedly calling her name. It could understand her and even speak–that meant it hadn’t lost control.
Nyx stood there in a daze as the leopard nuzzled her several times, and she saw it trying to get closer, wanting to lick her. She had to raise her hand and ‘grab the back of the leopard’s neck. “Kai, calm down.”
Even though she was holding him back, the leopard still tried to press against her, its eyes filled with intoxicated longing.
As soon as his body touched her soft skin, the leopard trembled with excitement, purring non–stop, as if it had a desperate craving for more, greedily seeking more of her.
Even in a state of loss of control, he had maintained some vigilance and restraint, but now, he was so passionate, so different.
Is he drunk?‘ she thought. Nyx released her grip in confusion and stepped back.
As she pulled away, the leopard seemed to have a moment of clarity, pausing briefly, but then quickly sank back into its longing and desires, crawling towards her again.
Faintly, Nyx could hear him whispering, “Don’t go. I like you. Please pet me.”

Nyx was momentarily stunned and didn’t know what to say. Since their last encounter, Nyx had sensed a subtle feeling from Kai, who had been avoiding her on the surface but secretly watching her.
But thinking back to Kai’s previous attitude toward her, she didn dare to think too much about it. Yet, at this moment, Kai openly admitted it. Nyx fell into silence. She still couldn’t bring herself to fully believe it.
Kai seemed as if he had drunk fake wine tonight, and what he said might not be trustworthy. Perhaps she should wait for him to sober up and then confirm it.
In the long silence, the effects of the perfume slowly faded. Regaining his rationality, the leopard’s body stiffened, unable to believe what he had just done. He hadn’t lost his memory; the recent events were clearly stored in his mind, replaying over and over again.
The more he recalled, the more anxious Kai became. He lowered his ears, too afraid to look up and see Nyx’s expression. He was bothering Nyx again and shamelessly told her he liked her.
He was already heavy–hearted and couldn’t bear such a blow. The thought of confessing unpreparedly made him imagine the scene of being rejected harshly.
The leopard pressed his ears tightly, hurriedly turned, and jumped out of the window, fleeing in a panic.
Nyx didn’t have time to stop him. When she leaned out the window to look, there was no trace of him. She rubbed her forehead, puzzled, wondering why the leopard was acting so strangely tonight.
‘Is he too excited about the new gift? But it shouldn’t have been this bad,‘ she thought. Nyx racked her brain for an explanation when suddenly, her eyes widened.
She remembered something. She hurriedly retrieved the trash disposal records from the smart assistant system, carefully checking the broken perfume, repeatedly confirming the label, and gasped in surprise.
It was a catnip perfume for male felines, not the dog–specific version at all. Kai must have opened her gift, smelled the leftover perfume, and gotten excited.
Nyx shook with realization, suddenly aware that she was the one who caused the leopard’s strange behavior. Thinking about how hurt he had looked, she felt a wave of guilt. No one wanted to embarrass themselves in front of the opposite sex.
If she had been unknowingly drugged and couldn’t control herself, acting coy, rolling on the floor, and even confessing, she would probably want to die once sober.
Nyx shivered at the frightening thought, quickly sending Kai an apology. She distinctly remembered that the perfume Xivar gave her was for dog males, not a catnip version. She really didn’t mean to cause any trouble.
The leopard fled from the Marshal’s estate at full speed, not returning to his human form, avoiding the crowd and continuing to run.
It wasn’t until he reached the riverbank, with the river breeze blowing, that his overheated brain finally cooled down. He slowly stopped, suddenly realizing a neglected question–Why had Nyx sprayed that perfume on the gift? Was she doing it on purpose?
The possibility made the leopard shake his head in disbelief, his heart racing. If Nyx had a hobby of using perfume to tease males, he wouldn’t mind at all.
Nyx didn’t need to test him like this; as long as she liked it, he didn’t care how she played with him. After some thought, Kai reverted to his human form, hesitantly opening his Intelligent Brain to ask Nyx.
But as soon as he opened it, he received a message from Nyx first, a long string, all filled with apologies. It was clear that Nyx was genuinely remorseful, offering many ways to make it up to him.

Kai was disappointed. The previous assumptions were all shattered. Having lost the chance to be teased by Nyx, he was utterly dejected, his spirit deflated, completely forgetting his earlier resolve to never be a slave to a female.
He barely suppressed his bitterness and replied: [You don’t need to apologize.]
Then, hesitantly, he added: [Please don’t mind the nonsense I said.]
