Chapter 140
A group of subordinates rushed in, their faces pale with alarm. “Richa, we’re under attack!”
Richa didn’t need them to say it–he could already feel the tremors from the impact.
His eyes widened in shock. “The Imperial Army?”
How could they have arrived so quickly?
His subordinate shook his head vigorously. “No, it’s not the Imperial Army.”
Just as Richa felt a hint of relief, the next words made his blood run cold. “It’s Jaws‘ subordinate, Black Mamba.”
That name Black Mamba sent a chill through the entire room. Jaws was even more ruthless and terrifying than the Imperial Army–true nightmares.
Not long ago, Adam had been killed by Jaws, his entire faction swallowed whole.
Richa sucked in a sharp breath, his face turning deathly pale.
He no longer had time to deal with Nyx. Without hesitation, he rushed off to face the crisis.
Richa thought, ‘Why did Black Mamba suddenly appear? Could it be that Griffin’s death has been leaked? Is Jaws planning to take this chance to eradicate us?‘
For the Space Pirates, Jaws was far more terrifying than the Empire. And Black Mamba, Jaws‘ most formidable enforcer, was the very embodiment of fear.
Richa didn’t want to die too miserably.
He was already weighing his options by thinking, ‘Should I surrender, flee, or offer up the SSS–level female as a bargaining/ chip?‘
As he was contemplating, he suddenly felt a chill in his chest. Staring down in shock, he saw his body sway violently before crashing to the ground.
Inside the room, Nyx furrowed her brows. She still felt weak all over, but if she didn’t escape now, she was afraid it would be too late to do so.
Just as she struggled to lift herself up, the ship jolted once more, making her stumble and fall forward.
Suddenly, a pair of strong, steady arms caught her, wrapping tightly around her waist.
Nyx panicked. She struggled to push away, attempting to unleash her psychic suppression again, but then a somewhat familiar voice reached her ears. “Don’t be afraid.”
Nyx froze. Only then did she realize that the person holding her was being extremely careful, as if he had no intention of harming her.
“Who are you?” asked Nyx.
The male wore protective gear that obscured his face and did no respond.
“Kian Linden?” Nyx ventured a bold guess.
Hearing his name spoken from the lips of his beloved female, Kan trembled.

He nodded, confirming his identity. “Don’t be afraid. I’m taking you away.”
Worried that Nyx might misunderstand, he quickly added. “I’ll take you back to the Empire.”
Upon hearing this, Nyx, who had been on guard, was momentarily stunned still. She thought, ‘Take me back to the Empire?
But Kian is a wanted criminal.’
“Aren’t you afraid of being captured?” she asked, scrutinizing him in disbelief.”
Kian shook his head without answering.
As always, he was sparing with his words, avoiding Nyx’s gaze and reluctant to talk too much with her.
He was afraid she would question why he had become a Space Pirate. Even more so, he feared seeing the disgust in her eyes. So he could only hold her in his arms in silent resolve.
Richa was dead. The remaining forces were nothing more than a disorganized rabble, insignificant. Kian’s men were already following his orders, cleaning up the battlefield.
Avoiding everyone’s attention, Kian carried Nyx aboard a smaller spacecraft.
The cabin was rather simple, but quiet. There was no one else.
Nyx felt slightly more at ease and secretly observed Kian as he removed his face guard.
Sensing her gaze, Kian tensed up.
“You’ve lost some weight,” Nyx suddenly said.
Not only had Kian slimmed down, but he also seemed taller, his features sharper. The boyish air he once had was gone, replaced by the presence of a mature male. He looked stronger than before, yet it was clear he hadn’t been living well.
Nyx also noticed a long scar on the back of Kian’s hand. She wasn’t sure if he hadn’t had the chance to treat it or simply lacked the means to.
“Are you coming back to the Empire with me?” she couldn’t help but ask.
Kian lowered his gaze, avoiding her eyes. He was afraid he’d disappoint Nyx.
He opened his mouth, unsure how to refuse her. He hesitated for a long moment before suddenly hearing a soft chuckle from nearby. “If you go back with her, Black Mamba will probably die, you know.”
At the voice, Kian immediately raised his weapon, shifting into battle mode in an instant.
‘Jaws? Why is he on this ship?‘ Kian thought.
Jaws deactivated his disguise and stepped out of the shadows, clapping with a leisurely smile. “Impressive as always, Black
Mamba.
“I knew it you would eventually lead me to her.”
It wasn’t for nothing that Jaws had placed a little “something” on Black Mamba to track him. His patience had finally paid off.
Originally, Jaws hadn’t planned to reveal himself so soon. According to his plan, once Black Mamba encountered an opportunity, he would find it difficult to restrain his desire and would keep Nyx for himself.
All he needed to do was determine where the adorable Nyx was being hidden, and then he could take his time–there was
no rush.

However, Black Mamba’s choice was completely unexpected. He had a perfect chance to claim Nyx for himself, yet he wanted to send her back to the Empire and hand her over.
‘That wouldn’t do,‘ Jaws thought, as he shook his head and smiled at Nyx, “You wouldn’t want to see Black Mamba die, would you?”
His voice was gentle, but to Nyx, it sounded chilling.
“Jaws?” She wasn’t entirely sure.
She had seen Jaws‘ photo in the Empire’s wanted system before, but this was her first time seeing him in person.
“Oh? You recognize me?” Jaws‘ smile deepened. He leaned forward and gave Nyx a bow, as if flattered. “What an honor.” Just as he was about to take Nyx’s hand for a kiss, Kian’s attack came at him head–on, forcing him to dodge.
Even as an SS–level male, Jaws felt immense pressure facing the reckless Black Mamba.
His smile vanished, and his expression turned serious.
Nyx’s heart–pounded with anxiety. She could feel the effects of the drug fading, her strength slowly returning, and she lifted her gaze to watch the two fight.
This was her first time attempting a direct mental suppression on a single target–she had no idea if it would work
To avoid distracting Kian, she remained silent and focused entirely on releasing her mental power. [Stop.]
Jaws‘ body visibly stiffened and froze on the spot.
Though it only lasted a few seconds, it was enough for Kian to seize the opportunity and unleash a fierce strike.
In the instant the attack landed, Jaws struggled to regain control. He transformed into a massive, agile crimson python, narrowly avoiding a fatal hit but still sustaining a serious injury. His enormous body crashed into the already battle–scarred ship, creating yet another gaping hole.
Returning to human form, Jaws was filled with disbelief. He thought, ‘I have actually been suppressed by a female?‘
SS–level males possessed incredible vitality, designed as living weapons for combat.
But instead of weakening, Jaws‘ attacks became even more frenzied after he sustained severe injuries. Kian, already at a disadvantage, couldn’t withstand the onslaught and suffered a devastating blow, coughing up blood.
Nyx’s heart pounded wildly at such a terrifying male.
She hadn’t expected Jaws to break free from suppression so quickly.
Nyx acted immediately, launching another mental suppression.
This time, Jaws recovered even faster.
He was only frozen for less than three seconds, just enough time for Nyx to rush to the heavily wounded Kian. “Shift to beast form!”
Under the influence of her mental command, Kian instantly transformed into a Black Mamba.
Nyx scooped him up, wrapping his body around herself, and then retrieved her mecha from her Space Button and leaped off the ship with him.
The black mecha was inconspicuous, but its speed was astonishing. Jaws, still shaking off the effects of the suppression, failed

to react in time.
Jaws thought, ‘Where did that mecha come from? How could a female possibly pilot a mecha?’
Despite his shock, Jaws‘ reflexes were quick. He immediately piloted his spaceship in pursuit.
Nyx tensed every muscle, pushing the black mecha to its absolute limit.
Shaking off the spaceship was easy, but as Xivar had warned, this mecha had poor endurance.

Running at full speed drained energy even faster. A single Prism Reactor wouldn’t last long, and Nyx would soon need to switch to another.
She couldn’t afford to burn through all her Prism Reactors and leave herself defenseless.
After carefully confirming that she had lost the spaceship and put enough distance between them, she immediately landed on a nearby planet.
Thanks to her diligent practice, even under extreme stress, she didn’t make any mistakes on her first real mecha flig‘
The landing was smooth. Nyx exhaled in relief.

To conserve Prism Reactor energy, she sent out a distress signal before storing the mecha away. A wave of scorching heat hit her instantly.
Nyx quickly pulled a protective suit from her Space Button, wrapping it around herself and Kian for protection.
Even through the suit, she could feel the planet’s extreme climate. The place was desolate–nothing could survive here.
She scanned her surroundings. Endless yellow sand filled the air, and the buildings, corroded beyond recognition, looked like ruins left behind after the apocalypse.
This was not a habitable planet. Nyx felt uneasy, unsure of what to do. She thought, ‘Am I still within the Empire’s territory?‘
She didn’t have her Intelligent Brain with her, so she couldn’t contact her guardian or use the tracking function.
She didn’t know which direction to go. The Black Mamba wrapped around her was severely injured and unconscious, motionless, which made her anxious.
After walking for half a day, Nyx finally found an abandoned building to serve as a temporary shelter.
Panting heavily, she sat down exhausted, took out a small medical device from her Space Button, and planned to treat Kian’s external injuries first, hoping he would wake up soon.
Behind her, a pair of eerie blue beast eyes quietly appeared.
