Kian lowered his eyes and stared at her. Suddenly, he reached out, caught her, held her up with both hands, leaned down, and pressed his face close, and his nose almost sank into her soft fur.
“Nykie,” his voice was deep as if suppressing something, and he asked in an inquiring tone, “Are you worried about him?”
Nyx was so familiar with his jealous feeling that she instinctively wanted to soothe him. Just before opening her mouth, she suddenly realized something was wrong and quickly pretended to be ignorant. “Who?”
She pretended not to know Jaws to show that she wasn’t worried about anything at all.
Kian still stared at her, his eyes were like a deep pool, making it impossible to guess what he was thinking.
