“I need to travel abroad the day after tomorrow.”
“Is everything okay?” Silas asked, his brows furrowed slightly.
“One of my patients had some accident and needs my attention,” Calliope explained. “I’ll be back as soon as the treatment is done, probably in two or three days.”
“Alright, is there anything you need me to prepare for you?” Silas looked at her, his deep–set eyes full of deep affection, the kind that could make anyone want to fall for him.
Calliope met his gaze and shook her head.
“They’ve got everything ready for me.”
“That’s good. Just be safe while you’re traveling.” Silas gently ruffled her hair as he gazed at her. “And remember, you have a husband who’s just a call away if you need anything, okay?”
His eyes were filled with such tenderness and love.
Calliope smiled, her eyes crinkling at the corners, and leaned into Silas’s embrace. “Will you miss me? If I go abroad, I might think of you.”
The more time she spent with Silas, the more she loved being close to him. If she could, she’d stick by his side
every moment.
