Chapter 8
My classmates understood my signal and immediately attacked Eleanor like mad dogs.
“What? All your personal belongings, you bought them using Gianna’s money!”
“Do you still want to act innocent? Don’t you have to compensate for breaking someone else’s phone?”
“We all saw it, you just insulted the Sullivan family’s daughter and deliberately damaged their
property, and now you want to deny it, no way!”
Eleanor was so angry that she was panting heavily. Without hesitation, I dialed the phone number.
“Just borrowing it for a moment, I’ll return it to you soon. What’s the rush?”
After the phone was answered, I walked out of the crowd and shouted “Dad” with a hoarse voice.
A few minutes later, I handed the phone back to Eleanor and looked at the police before she checked
- it.
“This theft case involves a significant amount of money, and I hope you can treat the suspects strictly, without giving them any chance to seek help elsewhere.”
The police obediently collected Eleanor and Tom’s phones.
“Don’t worry, we knew our limits.”
Eleanor was furious and started shouting without any care.
Unfortunately, the only response she received was the indifference of the police and the
classmates‘ insults.
The police car quickly drove away, and the noisy crowd finally quieted down. The vice principal looked at me with a somewhat awkward expression.
“Gianna, you child, why didn’t you say earlier that you were the Sullivan family’s heiress?”
“You see how this misunderstanding has caused a fuss, the matter of us donating the teaching
building…”
I didn’t have time to argue with him, so I turned around and left.
Just now, I pretended to extract Caleb’s current location from Eleanor’s clipped tone. Regardless, I
must hurry over to see the current situation.
Behind me, my classmates were still chattering away.
“Oh no, the young lady is really angry.”
“I had always felt that Gianna had a different temperament from others, she looked like a true
heiress at first sight.”
“Eleanor was filled with a sense of pleasure, indeed being the nanny’s child, how wicked, she actually pretended to be Gianna.”
“Is it still possible for us to flatter Gianna now?”
I hurriedly rushed back home, struggling to climb over the fence of the villa and looked inside.
Caleb and the nanny were sitting leisurely in the outer garden, sunbathing.
The two of them openly showed affection in front of the servants, as if they had already set their sights on everything in the house.
I sighed and discreetly continued eavesdropping, only to see Caleb answer a phone call and
immediately drop the teacup in his hand.
“Damn Gianna, she dared to call the police!”
The nanny was shocked and horrified.
“Has our secret been exposed?”
Caleb shook his head, his brow furrowed.
“No, nobody else knew about Nora’s situation except us.”
“It was Gianna who reported Eleanor for theft, damn it. If I had known it would be so troublesome
now, I should have killed them mother and daughter earlier.”
The nanny’s face turned green when she heard that her daughter had been arrested.
“Then go quickly and get Eleanor out, what are you standing around for?”
“My daughter is going to be the heiress of the Sullivan family, there must be no blemish on her
resume!”
Caleb closed his eyes and pinched his temples.
“Don’t worry, I will withdraw the case right away.”
“Nora is still locked in the basement of the suburban villa. You must make sure someone keeps an eye on her. It is crucial‘ that nothing goes wrong at this critical moment.”
The nanny nodded and helped Caleb put on his coat. The two of them bid a reluctant farewell,
kissing each other goodbye.
I was disgusted by this disgusting scene and almost fell off the wall. I decided to quietly leave.
The next day, Eleanor indeed came back.
