Chapter 9
As soon as she saw me from a distance, she could no longer hide the resentment on her face and came straight towards me.
“Gianna Sullivan!”
“You didn’t expect it, but I came out.
Not only that, today my father also came to the donation ceremony to support me in person. You, the despicable person who tried to steal my identity, go to hell!
Looking at her arrogant appearance, I shrank in fear.
“Eleanor, how did you come out so quickly? You must have hidden dozens of gold bars in your bedroom, which you definitely stole to buy my property!”
Eleanor laughed out loud as she listened to my questioning.
“Gianna, you didn’t think you were some kind of rich heiress, did you?”
“I told you, the Sullivan family’s world has changed, there will be no more you, Gianna, only me,
Eleanor Sullivan!”
I exclaimed in surprise.
“What do you mean? Aren’t you Eleanor Russell? Not Eleanor Sullivan!”
“You, the daughter of a nanny, should not fantasize about things that do not belong to you!”
Eleanor laughed more and more freely.
“You ignorant person, there are so many things you don’t know, and I’m too lazy to explain them to
you one by one.”
“Just remember, you were going to die soon.”
“My donation ceremony is about to begin, Gianna. After today, the Sullivan family, the richest family, will only have me as their daughter.”
After she finished speaking, she proudly left with a group of followers. I hesitated for a moment,
but then I decided to follow along.
The auditorium was already filled with people, and as Eleanor arrived, the flashlights lit up one by
one.
Before Eleanor took the stage, she turned her head and gave me a confident smile, then she took the
microphone.
“Today, being able to stand here and donate a teaching building to my alma mater, I must first thank my father, Caleb.”
With her voice, Caleb, dressed in formal attire, also stepped onto the stage.
His gaze wandered back and forth through the crowd, finally landing on my face.
“I heard that recently there were a lot of rumors and gossip about my daughter in school.”
“Here, I want to help my precious daughter Eleanor clarify a few things.”
“This was indeed my negligence. Initially, I let Eleanor take her mother’s surname, in order for her to blend in with the masses as an ordinary person, and not stand out just because she is my child.”
“But I didn’t expect Eleanor’s innocence and kindness to be taken advantage of by malicious
people, and she was almost impersonated…”
Caleb, being a seasoned player in the business field, lived up to his reputation. When it came to speaking, he was precise and never missed a beat. In just a few words, he managed to shift the
blame onto me.
As he spoke, Eleanor’s lips curved more and more, and the gazes of everyone turned into naked disgust towards me.
“This Gianna almost fooled us yesterday!”
“What a lunatic, she not only deceived us, but also fooled the police. How many years will she be
sentenced for this?”
“Mr. Sullivan came out to clarify for his daughter, and now Gianna is really finished.”
The speech on the stage had already ended at this moment, but no one continued to speak.
Everyone stared at me, as if they were waiting for me to break down and beg for mercy.
I slowly stood up in front of everyone’s gaze.
“Caleb, don’t you fear retribution for what you have done?”
Caleb was taken aback by my question, seemingly not expecting that I would be so calm at this
point.
After a while, he squinted his eyes slightly.
“Gianna, you were just an orphan. We kindly adopted you and provided you with education. What kind of retribution will I face?”
Eleanor stood by his side, her gaze upon me as if she were looking at a dead person.

“Not only did you accept financial support from my family, but you also attempted to defame me. I have never seen someone as shameless as you.”
“Starting from today, I will withdraw all the support from the Sullivan family towards you,
including the money spent on you.”
“Gianna, I don’t know how you could fill this big hole.”
