Chapter 9
Claire’s involvement didn’t go unnoticed.
The paparazzi released photos and videos showing her intimacy with Alexander. Though she tried explaining her ongoing divorce from James, Alexander’s married status was undeniable.
Internet sleuths traced the production company backing her, revealing Alexander as her secret benefactor. Her ambiguous response only confirmed both her infidelity and home wrecking
While the studio and Alexander concealed the accident’s truth, my fan base noticed my unusual absence. They began speculating that Alexander had harmed me for Claire’s sake, genuinely fearing for my safety.
The public had already uncovered Claire’s connection as my sister. Now they discovered she’d stolen not one, but two men from her own sister. Even those normally indifferent to celebrity drama were outraged at such cruelty.
When this news broke, I was deep in rehearsals at a remote location with the legendary Oscar–winning director Thomas Grey. His new film “Twilight’s Edge” was shrouded in secrecy due to its controversial subject matter.
Grey was Hollywood’s most prestigious director–every actor’s dream collaboration. His films consistently
dominated international awards.
He had one strict rule: during filming, actors must live as their characters, cutting off outside contact and
avoiding public appearances.
For most actors, this would be challenging. For me, it was perfect timing.
When Grey approached me, I accepted without hesitation.
During a break, my assistant whispered, “Alexander’s not doing well.”
I smiled wryly. “Of course he’s playing the grieving husband. Otherwise, he’d look heartless.”
“He refuses to believe you died in the explosion. He’s still searching everywhere. With the Claire scandal, the board’s losing confidence in him.”
I scoffed. “He deceived me for seven years. One deception from me seems fair.”
“James and Claire’s divorce is final, but Alexander’s pulled all her funding. She begged him, but he’s apparently blacklisting her.”
“Claire loves taking what’s mine. But she needs talent to keep it. Don’t update me on them anymore.
