Chapter 108
Chapter 108
He keeps looking at me, a soft smile on his face. “Winnie…”
1 tenore him and keep rambling. “And I remember you telling me your dad got you one when you were eight, and it broke a couple years ago and I know it won’t replace that one, it’s not supposed to, but you always loved the vintage ones better than. the newer ones so I thought you’d like it-”
He places the camera down on his bedside table carefully before reaching forward and pulling me fight against his chest, one hand placed at the back of my head, pushing my face into the crook of his neck.
I wrap my arms around him, hugging him back.
“That’s the best thing I’ve gotten in years.” He whispers before pressing a kiss to the top of my head. “Thank you so much.”
“Happy birthday. Adonis.” I grin into his neck, closing my eyes and hugging him tighter. “I’m glad you were born.”
Winnie
“Try the pink one
“Try the pin NO! I look fucking horrible in pink! I look like a–a–a fucking Oompa Loompa or some shit!”
“Oompa Loompas are orange, dipshit.”
“No one asked for your input, Windora!”
“Um. you did, by bringing me here!”
“Yeah, she’s right. We brought her here to get her opinion.” Kamri points out, looping a bright blue boa around her own neck.
I grin at her. “I dare you to wear that to prom.”
Octavia groans when Kamri mischievously. “Are you two seriously-”
“Girls, enough.”
The three of us quiet down before mumbling out simultaneously, “Sorry, Aunt Meg.” And a, “sorry, mom.” from Kamri.
She looks at all three of us before letting out a laugh. “You three really sound like Max. Noah and Dylan.”
Kamri puts a sparkly fedora on my head, and I pat it down for good measure.
“Really?” Octavia asks, a few dresses swung over her forearm.
“Yeah.” Aunt Megan hums out, a smile present on her face. “They used to argue just like that.
Kamri snorts, pulling a tie around her neck, replacing the hoa. “I’m not surprised. They still argue like an old married throuple.”
“Who used to argue the most?” Octavia asks:
in and I snort.
“What kind of question is that? Mun and dad, obviously. Dumbass.”

Chapter 108
“Play nice.” Megan lightly taps the back of my head and I jut my bottom lip out slightly, sinking down in my seat next to her. “You’re not wrong, though. They argued like an old married couple before they even got together.”
“Didn’t Aunt Vach punch “\\
“Yes, she did. They even brought it up in their wedding vows.”
We laugh.
“Maybe I should punch Adonis in the face.”
Kamri chokes on air, letting out a strangled laugh. “Why don’t you try kissing him instead?”
“I have tried!” I exclaim, exasperatedly. “Tucking Flynn ruins it every time!”
“That doesn’t change the fact that you still pussy out afterwards.” Octavia adds.
“You, shut up.” I kick her leg. “Need I remind you, Flynn hates your ass.”
“He fucking does not-”
“Language.” Aunt Megan chides gently, smoothing the skin between my eyebrows with her thumb. She turns to Octavia and Kamri, pointing at the clothes in their arms. “Okay, first of all, put those back. They are tacky and ugly. You will look back on your prom photos in fifteen years and regret every decision you ever made that led to that night.”
“Dang, mom.” Kamri mutters as she and Octavia start hanging them up on the given rack in the changing rooms.
“Put them back where you got them!” I glare at them, kicking Octavia again. She smacks my foot, only resulting in her earning another kick in the leg
“I don’t give a fuck if it’s their job! We are nice people! We are not going to make the workers lives harder, they don’t get payed. enough for this shit. Put that shit back where you found it!”
Kamri and Octavia huff, trudging out of the changing rooms.
“Octavia, try the green dresses!” Megan calls after them. “Kam, try full black suits!”
She turns back to me and stares for a second before laughing softly.
I can’t help but grin at her. “What?”
“You sound just like your mother.”
I smile, looking to the side slightly. “I get that a lot.”
Megan shakes her head, pressing a kiss to my temple while smoothing my hair down. “You know, she wanted a yellow dress. for her wedding.”
I perk up with an airy laugh. “Why am I not surprised?”
Megan grins. “Just something she would do, huh?”
I nod before furrowing my brows. She doesn’t have a yellow dress on in any of the wedding photos. “She didn’t wear a yellow dress, though.”
Chapter 108
Megan smiles with a slightly faraway look. “She bought one. But them a couple weeks later, when we were looking for bridesmaid dresses, she found this one white dress. It was simple, but it had to be the prettiest thing I’d seen. She fell in love with it, and ended up making the wedding an all white theme. So even the guests were wearing white.”
Tm surprised she didn’t make the wedding theme yellow.”
Aunt Megan snorts slightly. “She wanted to. Noah had to put his foot down when she tried to put the Priest in a Big Bird
costume.
