Chapter 5
His smile vanished, replaced by a dark expression. He snapped his fingers, and two men in black immediately grabbed my sister and parents, dragging them out of the car.
My sister still hadn’t grasped the situation, shouting, “James, have you lost your mind?! I’m going to be Mrs. Lee! Thomas invited me here to thank me! If he finds out how you’re treating me, he’ll make you pay for it!”
Her words triggered a burst of laughter from the men around us.
When they had laughed enough, James’s assistant sneered. “You? Becoming Mrs. Lee? Do you even know your own worth?”
His voice turned icy. “Did you really think Mr. Lee wouldn’t figure out who was behind the accident that nearly killed his wife? The moment you showed up, he already suspected you. We’ve spent these past few days gathering all the evidence and witnesses. Today, we brought you here to settle the score–not to thank you.”
The color drained from my parents‘ faces.
But they still refused to admit anything.
“What nonsense are you spouting? What accident? What evidence? Accusing people falsely is a crime! My daughter risked her life to save Thomas’s wife–she even knelt and donated blood! And now you’re turning things around on us? Where’s the justice in that?! Jessica, let’s go! We don’t need to deal with the Lee family!”
They grabbed my sister’s hand and tried to walk away.
A few men effortlessly lifted them like ragdolls and tossed them back, sending them sprawling on the ground.
My parents clung to my sister, screaming, “This is illegal! We’ll sue you for this!”
James’s assistant looked down at them, expression unreadable. “Sue us? Let’s see if you even make it out of here first.”
The men surrounded them, forming a tight circle. My family trembled inside.
Even now, my sister was
clinging to her delusions.
“James, if you dare lay a hand on me… Do you even know how often Thomas has been chatting with me these days? He said he was grateful for me! You must be acting without his approval. If he knew about this, he would never allow it.”
James’s assistant raised an eyebrow before pulling out his phone and opening a chat log.
“You mean this?” He let out a mocking chuckle. “Too bad–it wasn’t Mr. Lee you were talking to. Our tech team has been chatting with you this whole
time.”
My sister’s eyes widened in horror.
“As for why we kept reaching out to you? It was to hack your phone.” James’s assistant’s voice was laced with amusement. “Your entire family’s phones have been monitored for days. We know exactly how you lured the madam to the slums. We know how your parents drove straight into her. We know how handled her phone and where you dumped the car. We know everything.”

Three faces turned deathly pale.
My sister stammered, “That’s impossible… If you knew all this, why didn’t you go to the police?”
James’s assistant crouched down, his dark pupils glinting with menace. “What do
you
think?”
Even as foolish as she was, my sister finally understood what he meant.
Not going to the police… meant that if the authorities handled this, at worst, they’d be arrested and sentenced.
But to Thomas-
“That’s too light a punishment.” James’s assistant snorted. “I really don’t know where you got the audacity to go after the madam. Do you have any idea what she means to Mr. Lee? She is his everything. If she so much as bumps into a table, the table gets smashed to pieces.”

Chapter 5,
My sister was so terrified she could no longer speak.
But my parents still didn’t understand. “You still can’t do anything illegal to us! If you break the law, you’ll be arrested too
I finally couldn’t hold back my laughter.
“Dad, Mom, do you seriously think they care about the law? They’ve already brought us here. If they kill our entire family, at worst, it’ll just be a missing persons case. With Thomas’s power, there won’t even be a trace left behind. And even if there is–there’ll always be someone willing to take the fall for him.”
I said this to wake them up to reality.
But instead of understanding, they turned on me like rabid dogs.
“This was all Jennifer’s plan! It had nothing to do with Jessica! She was the one who wanted to marry rich! She made us do this! Please, let our family go–if you want revenge, take it out on Jennifer instead!”
I stood there in disbelief.
That was the moment whatever lingering attachment I had to this family completely shattered.
So in their eyes, this family only consisted of the three of them. I was never part of it.
think!” I could no longer hold back my rage. “Who was the one dreaming of marrying rich? Who saw a resemblance to Mrs. Lee and started fantasizing? I warned you from the start–Thomas isn’t a fool! The wealthy aren’t as clueless as you
