Chapter 6
“Shut up!” My father instinctively roared at me.
“You wretched brat! Who the hell do you think you are to speak against Jessica?! You must’ve ratted us out! You ruined everything! I can’t believe I raised you–I should’ve drowned you in the river when I had the chance!”
The more my father yelled, the more agitated he became, even standing up as if to charge at me.
However, as soon as he got up, Assistant James kicked him hard, grabbing his hair and slapping him twice. “I told you, Miss Jennifer is our Mr. Lee’s distinguished guest. Show some respect. And we’ve already checked Miss Jennifer’s phone. She had no knowledge of your so–called plan and even wanted to call the police, but you all stopped her.”
Hearing this, my heart finally settled.
All the things I did worked to clear my name.
Thomas probably won’t make things difficult for me now.
Assistant James appeared weak, but his strength was terrifying.
My father’s face immediately swelled up, and blood appeared at the corners of his mouth.
My mother, no longer daring to be defiant, quickly kneeled down, pleading for mercy, taking all the blame on herself. “Assistant James, you are a magnanimous person, please spare our Jessica. Everything was done by me and her father. Please speak well of it to Mr. Lee. Jessica truly donated blood to Mrs. Lee, and she really wanted to save her.”

Assistant James had investigated this matter as well.

waved his hand, and three bodyguards came forward, each dragging one of them into the old factory.
Soon, their screams could be heard.
The stench of blood seeped out through the tightly closed door.
“Miss Jennifer, Mr. Lee would like to meet you.”
Assistant James resumed his polite demeanor and invited me to the car.
As I rode toward Thomas, I couldn’t help but wonder–since he already knew I wasn’t involved in this incident, why did he still want to see me?
When we arrived at a private hospital, I saw Thomas and Mary lying there with an IV drip. I was stunned.
Mary hadn’t died!
I was about to ask what was going on when Thomas made a “shh” gesture.
I closed my mouth.
After he came out, he handed me a document. “I know what you’re going to ask. Here’s the answer.”
I opened the file, and inside were two paternity tests.

One was for my supposed parents, and it showed no match.
I wasn’t their child?
In that instant, my eyes

with tears.
I had wondered many times if I wasn’t their child.
When they abused me and showed kindness to Jessica, while beating and kicking me.
But seeing Jessica’s face, which resembled mine yet more beautiful, I never dared to think that way.
I told myself maybe my face was too ugly for them to like.
But now, I really wasn’t their child.
No wonder they were so biased.
So who was my real parent?
The second paternity test gave me the answer.
It showed a 99.99% match with someone named David Ryan.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I asked Thomas, “Who is David Ryan?”
Thomas answered, “He’s Mary’s father.”
I was actually Jessica’s sister?!
The news hit me like a thunderclap, shocking me to my core.
Through Thomas’s explanation, I learned that Mary had a younger sister named Lily Ryan, who went missing at the age of three when they went to an amusement park.
All these years, Mary had been searching for her sister.
When Thomas first saw Jessica, he noticed how similar her face was to Mary’s, and wondered if she might be her sister.
The investigation showed Jessica wasn’t the one.
But then I donated blood to Mary.
Because of the special blood type and fearing an emergency, Thomas had several Rh–negative blood donors in the company.
These individuals were well–paid and their diet strictly controlled by the Lee family’s nutritionists, so Mary never used Jessica’s blood.
To find Mary’s sister, all Rh–negative blood donors were tested.
That’s when it was discovered I was Mary’s sister.
Thomas’s financial power was immense. When Mary had an accident, he brought the best doctors from China on his private jet and literally pulled her back from the brink of death.
The reason the news of Mary’s death was spread was to make Jessica reveal her true colors.
