Chapter 7
In fact, when Jessica left the hospital and threw Mary’s phone into the lake, Thomas had already known she was the culprit. The past few days were simply to gather evidence.
Even after hearing this, my mind was still in a daze.
I wasn’t really part of the Brown family; my real name was Lily, and I had an older sister.
“Lily, I brought you here because I need you to do me a favor.” Thomas spoke to me but kept his gaze fixed on the person on the other side of the glass door. “Your sister has been in a coma ever since the surgery. She’s always believed she lost her sister. You are the source of her pain. I want you to…”
“I agree.”
I understood what he meant and immediately walked inside, calling out to Mary by her side, “Sister.”
Although Mary didn’t wake up, tears appeared in the corners of her eyes.
For the next few days, I stayed by her side, telling her about my experiences and Thomas’s love for her.
Heaven rewards those who work hard–on a sunny afternoon, Mary woke up.
I was both shocked and overjoyed, tears streaming down my face, “Sister, you’re awake.”
“Lily, I’m sorry.”
Thomas, upon hearing the news, rushed over as quickly as possible. His clothes were disheveled, and he hadn’t shaved.
When his eyes met Mary’s, his legs gave way, and he collapsed to his knees.

Mary simply called his name, and the business tycoon Thomas broke down into tears, looking like a child.
“Mary, Mary.”

to disturb them, so I left the room.
Assistant James was standing in the corridor, basking in the sun. I walked over and called his name.
He turned to me and smiled, “Was Mr. Lee’s crying embarrassing?”
I shook my head, “It’s fine. He just loves his sister too much.”
“Mr. Lee loves his wife very much. This kind of love is truly enviable.”
I nodded in agreement.
After hesitating for a while, I couldn’t help but ask, “Assistant James, could you tell me… how are my parents…. the Brown family?”
“They were sent to prison.”
“Huh?”
I was quite shocked.
He seemed to understand my thoughts and chuckled, “Did you really think we were part of a mafia?”
Embarrassed, I said, “That’s not what I meant.”
“However, if Madam hadn’t been saved, these people might have really lost their lives.”
Assistant James’s eyes darkened for a moment.

Chapter 7,
Later, I found out that even if the Brown family parents hadn’t died, they were tortured beyond recognition.
They had their limbs chopped off and were turned mute,
They were found lying in a pigsty in a village.
Since it was a village, no one knew who the killers were,
The day after they were saved, the truth about the accidental murder of the richest man’s wife spread.
The news about the younger sister orchestrating the whole thing quickly became a trending topic, and many people criticized her for her low morals, doing anything for publicity,
Because of the loud public outcry, the Brown family parents were sent to prison and sentenced.
Everyone was criticizing the incident, but no one noticed that the mastermind, Jessica, had gone missing.
Some said she fled the country when things went south, others said she committed suicide.
Assistant James refused to reveal her whereabouts, telling me not to ask things I shouldn’t.
But I still guessed it.
Mary was a rare blood type, and this time, she narrowly escaped. But what if there was a next time?
Thomas still valued people with rare blood types, so Jessica hadn’t disappeared; she was probably locked up.
As a blood donor.
But Thomas wouldn’t let the people who harmed Mary live well, so she was being tortured daily, yet treated with good food, drink, and medicine.
She was truly in a position where she couldn’t survive, but couldn’t die either.
The only way to get out is to wait for Thomas’s death or bankruptcy.
However, looking at how affectionate Thomas and Mary were, it might be decades before that happened.
After Mary recovered, she took me back to the Ryan family.
The Ryan family was also a wealthy family, not as extravagant as Thomas’s, but still considered aristocratic.
After we returned, my parents transferred all their assets to my name as compensation.
On the day I became part of the aristocratic family, I asked Assistant James to deliver a message to Jessica, telling her about my current situation.
Assistant James was surprised, “How…”
He smiled gently, “I will.”
So cruel.
Jessica shouldn’t be feeling too well.
